Okay, well. My friend has just recently began teaching me (well sorta) how to play the Guitar. I really like it an enjoy it so I bought my own and it's on it's way in the mail to me right now. But the thing is, I don't have him to help me practice or anything, so I was wondering, do you guys know any songs that are good practice for a beginner? Because ... yeah. Lol

Deep Purple-Smoke on the Water, is great for practice. It's all on the top string and it goes like this.

0 3 5| 0 3 6 5| 0 3 5| 3 0

You know what the numbers signify frets right?

Yeah, I know. But when you say top string you mean the one closest to your face when you play right? The low one? Lol

Okay, yeah. I've got Smoke on Water down, but are there any other songs that are fairly easy like that? XD I just want to get used to some sliding and hitting some notes so that I can play more of Seven Nation Army.

Ah.Good luck on thsis road.This was one of my first tabs I read. :P

e|--------------------------------------------------
B|--------------------------------------------------
G|--------------------------------------------------
D|----------4--------4-2-O------------------------
A|-2-2-2-2--------------------------4---------4-O
E|------------2-2-2--------3-3-3-3----3-3-3-----

its your guitar flipped so, the capital E is the frist sting you play.Tha bass string, um..another name for it..hm, the big fat one.:P
the numbers you see are the frets[that guy explained good about them already] that you press down you go to that string hold down and pick it.:| I hope you understand.Its easy if I could only show you.lol :P Os mean its an open string so you just pick it alone.:_ hm...you got that.? ^.^;
