Story: The UNSC is gaurding Cherokee III, home to one of the only remaining military command centers in the hands of the UNSC. Reach and Earth have already fallen, and the only thing keeping this planet safe was its naturally occuring magnetic storms raging just outside the atmosphere. But that safety ended, as a Covenant fleet appeared out of slipspace right next to Cherokee III. But the strange thing was... They were attacking eachother. Halo Backstory: If you're not familiar with the Halo story, you can read it here. The Halo story begins like many science fiction stories: Humanity has progressed through the ages, reaching into space and colonizing a number of worlds scattered throughout our arm of the galaxy. By 2490, Humanity had colonized over 800 worlds, divided into two categories, known simply as the Inner Colonies and the Outer Colonies. The Inner Colonies were among the first worlds to be colonized, and were characterized by high development and infrastructure, while the Outer Colonies were largely underpopulated and used primarily as sources of raw materials for the Inner Colonies. However, despite the development of faster-than-light Slipspace travel, the colonization of almost a thousand worlds, and the exploration of a rapidly growing area of space around Earth, Humanity had never encountered alien life. That all changed on February 3, 2525. On that day, all contact with the Outer Colony world of Harvest was lost. A ship was sent to investigate, but it, too, was lost after entering the system. A battlegroup of military vessels from the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) was dispatched to reestablish contact with Harvest, but encountered an alien ship in orbit. After a viscious battle, a single ship from the battlegroup was able to limp back to Human-controlled space and officially declare what many had begun to fear: Humanity was under attack by an enemy we didn't even know existed. Decoded alien transmissions gave us our only glimpses into the minds of our adversaries: known as the Covenant, they were actually a collective of at least eight alien species, bound together by a common religion. Their society was a rigid caste system where each alien species served a specific function. The society was led by the Prophets, who provided religious guidance in the name of their Gods. The Elites were the main military caste and served as the officers of the armed forces and the soldiers in high-profile missions. Serving various other functions were the Brutes, the Hunters, the Engineers, the Drones, the Jackals, and the Grunts. This combination of strengths made for a powerful military machine, especially when coupled with their superior technology. Their soldiers, filled with religious fervor and the belief that the mere existence of Humans was an affront to the Gods, pursued the destruction of Humanity with fanatical zeal. The Covenant belief system centered around an alien race even more ancient than the Prophets, who left behind massive structures scattered around the galaxy. The Covenant religion preached that the Forerunners, as they were called, had transcended this universe and proceeded onto the next life through a process known as "The Great Journey." The thirty years following the loss of Harvest were marked by pitched battles against Covenant forces, precious few of which ended in victory. The Covenant seemed unstoppable in space, but on the ground the two sides were more evenly matched. Marine forces were able to make significant progress on surface battles, but even the most heroic of victories proved fruitless, as the Covenant would simply retreat back into space and bombard the planet from the safety of orbit. It was at this time that the Covenant doctrine of "glassing" was introduced: their warships would bombard the surface of a Human world with plasma fire until everything on the planet was dead and the surface turned to glass. It was the most brutal form of mass murder imaginable, and it became standard practice for the Covenant forces. World after world fell before the Covenant juggernaut, and as more of the Outer Colonies were lost, the Covenant grew ever closer to the Inner Colonies. It seemed that the destruction of the Human race was inevitable, until the UNSC unveiled its last and greatest hope: the SPARTAN II program. This classified program was in developement before the attack on Harvest, but was accelerated in the wake of the Covenant invasion. The objective of the SPARTAN II program was to develop a group of genetically-enhanced super-soldiers. The result was an army even more powerful than any had dared hope for, yet they were only able to slow the Covenant advance. Hope remained, however, that the SPARTAN warriors would be able to turn the tide of the war before it was too late. Charactars: There are several groups and species you can be in this RP. Spectre: Alien equivalent of a Warthog, this has a turret on the back, one driver seat, and two passenger seats. Banshee: Alien aircraft. Slow, but well equipped with 2 mounted plasma rifles and a mounted fuel rod cannon. Phantom: Alien dropship. Can carry 2 ghosts at a time or one other vehicle. Carries 12 aliens at once. Starting Point: The aliens have been fighting eachother, some species have decided to work together against others. The Rebellion ship was wounded and had to let off its crew and soldiers off, onto the planet. The Covenant did not glass the planet, however. For reasons unknown. The Covenant ship let off its crew and soldiers, too, to combat the Humans and Rebellion. They both landed in a thriving spaceport called métropole. The UNSC forces mounted an attack, not about to let Cherokee III’s greatest space port be destroyed. |

The Cherokeee III Gaurds Army stood ready at the egde of a brigde as civilians were busy escaping across it. The Covenant had landed several miles away, and were coming towards their position. But for some reason, they were fighting eachother. But that doesn't mean they wouldn't kill Humans, either. A low droning noise was uttered, and one Marine yelled, "Scaraaab!!! Behind the building to the left! Defend the bridge at all costs! Civilians need to cross!" The Scarab charged its main cannon, then was struck by an explosion. There was another, then another. It was the 4th armoured brigade, come to the rescue! The Scarab was overpowered and toppled into a nearby building, but Rebellion infantry was moving in. Twenty Elites, forty Grunts, and ten Hunters, to be exact. Nav started shooting at the Elites from his high perch on a rooftop. The Hunters will be taken care of by the 4th Armoured. |

Desending down to the action, Sedalb ducks behind cover on the bridge. Checking his ammo, he throws in two more shells and peeks over the rubble. *Nothing, time to advance.* He ran further towards the other side of the bridge and took cover once again, this time the alien scum were on the other side. *Time to get upclose and personnal* he thought as he got his shotgun ready. Two grunts appeared around the corner and Sedalb shot one by suprise. As he reloaded the other dropped it's weapon and started to run away before Sedalb stopped it in it's stracks by shooting again. "Where's everyone else, I can't be down here alone." he said to himself |

The Hunters engaged the Scorpion tanks while the Marines were fighting Elites and Grunts. Two Marines somehow heard Sedalb, and came to his side. Nav kept firing, but something came up behind him and grabbed his neck. An Elite had him in a death grip. Nav did what he could to struggle free, but the Elite was too strong. |

Another sniper saw Nav struggling. He aimed carefully at the Elite's head and fired, killing it with one shot. Nav dropped to the roof, and saluted the other sniper. He picked up his own rifle and saw that the Covenant were bringing in vehicles. He aimed at the driver of the Spectre and fired two shots at him. |

Name: Nidim Gender: Male Species: Elite Weapons: Particle Beam Rifle, Energy Sword, Plasma Pistol Charactar Bio: An elite that rebeled aginst the Covenant. Was never really very much of a follower of Covenant doctrine, but was tolerated to a point because of his tatics. Also devloped a respect for parts of their culture, espically thier tatical prowess on the ground. Appearance: Fairly average for an Elite, but his armor seems much more beat up and patched together than others. |

Carbort noticed that the driver was dead, but the vehicle continued on. He jumped down into the drivers seat, moving the corpse to the passanger seat, aimed for one of the tanks that was baraging the Hunters. He took two plasma grenades from the corpse and stuck them onto the turrents plasma battery, just as the Spectre was getting close to the tank. Carbort then quickly jumped off the vehicle and hit the deck. The gernades went off, causing the turrent to explode, destroying the tank. As he got his bearings, Carbort whipped out his beam sword and ran at the nearest marine wildly. |

Carbort leaped at a marine who was firing at one of the other Elites. he slashed at his arm, causing him to drop his weapon. As the marine fell to the ground, he backed away from Carbort, terrified. As Carbort stood there, hesitating, he saw the marine reaching for his pistol and proceeded the stab at his chest, killing the marine instantly. |
