Step 1. Start a thread in the Pilothouse, preferably after having thought out and possibly researched details in your storyline. But first, please, ask yourself (and others. Many others.) if a revolution in your country is likely, even possible.
Step 2. Actually play out the revolution instead of a single post dictating a major event has occurred in your nation, and assuming all will go well from there.
Step 3. Follow up with any other IC roleplaying (news thread, UN/foreign requests, etc) afterwards.
Step 4. Attempt to draw a favorable conclusion to your story arc based upon what's going on in your story, and what you would like to happen. Note that the story arc is considered a key part of any plotline, and that a favorable outcome is just a possibility. Someone (like the United States) might intervene and fuck everything up.
Step 5. ????
Step 6. Profit!!!

I told Goodie that, if I was America's military arm like you offered, we'd already be knee deep in Guatemala's stratosphere.

I also came up with a great slogan for recruitment, too, but I can't recall it. It went something like this: "America: Effecting Regime Changes At 30,000 Feet."

Even I did that back on the more liberal and less realistic 1.0. Recon should be able to attest to the slow introduction of HK Boris.

I wish we still had that board :(

Next round I am going to be the Gambia again, just to have a coup

Of course these people who are having these coups should ... read about them to take some examples and actually RP it all out.

I'd like to add that you should probably put major changes (revolutions) in the Staging Area first so the community can see, and comment on it.

Or you could put an iota of thought into your plot line, and have it turn out 10x better. Seriously, every other country on this board this round looks like it's gearing for a major revolution, or has already undergone one.

I can assure you that I won't be planning French Revolution II: Revenge of the Bourbons anytime soon :P

The guide looks good though. A revolution can be an interesting thing to play out, but some thought needs to go into the reasons behind it happening and how it all turns out. Things rarely go exactly as planned.

I'm not necessarily having a revolution. Mine will likely end up looking like the difference between the US Congress in 2004 and 2008 except without an election between the two. I haven't quite decided if the monarchists will get their way yet, still doing some outlining.

I'd recommend we just veto half-baked resolutions on the spot on realism grounds and call it a day.

I played the "I'll turn this country around and run it right" game last round. This round will be fortified with extra chaos and strife. My revolution is in play as we speak. Expect blatant results in the next couple of IG years... :D

It might look like the DRC is heading towards a revolution, but I'm actually just planning for a really anti-climatic democratic change of power.

No, revolutions aren't always Iran. It'd suck if every time some random person in some corner of the world decided to stage a revolution, I had to do one too :P
