Apparently I am still affected by the American Propaganda Machine and am amazed to see Iranians commenting freely on Yahoo! Buzz. In other news, GO MOUSAVI! |

Mousavi can do it! He's getting a lot of press attention in the UK. Just hope it really changes things. |

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090613/ap_on_...l_iran_election That. Just happened. I would have figured something more like that would have happened. But again, if only if only Mousavi pulls off that alleged extra thirty percent or so. |

No shit it's fraud, even if Ahamadinejad won legitimately it would be no where near a landslide. I'm wondering if this will lead to something "pretty". |

There's no way that, if Mousavi won, Ahmadinejad would've conceded. Likewise, the prospect of Mousavi doing likewise was flimsy at best. So, really, this should've been obvious from day one. Given the threat coming from the guard leader, though, I'm inclined to believe that the government is seriously under the impression that Mousavi stood a legitimate chance of winning the election. Maybe not the majority required to prevent a run-off, but the point remains. |

Even at the percentage they claimed he had, he's sitting on top of votes half the worth of Fuckamijad. Sure, I guess I was one to jump the barrel, but I still find it unlikely that he won it in a landslide that badly. Yet, think about it - The Ayatollah likes the Fuckamijad's policies, and not only that but the Guard is more or less completely loyal to him. The Government is completely under his thumb, so long he continues to cock tease the Ayatollah, and even when legitimate rivals come out and poise a real threat of winning.. it wouldn't ever matter, because he would just manipulate the vote. I'm sure, then, that he could have still won - but it wasn't as horrendous as it's being claimed. Still, I'd like to see something come of this - To either show that Iranians as a whole have a backbone, or for the world to really see how evil the fuck can be. I mean this by further censorship, curfews to "prevent thuggish acts", and so forth. I'm sure, though, that North Korea will act out because of the recent UN Sanctions increase.. and we'll all be nom nomming away about the possibility of the Korean War going hot once more to care at all about Fuckamijad threatening to create more weapons grade material. |

Sometimes. Its called the Daxonion Paradox. Occasionly, a player comes up with an IC plot that ends up happening in a similar way in real life. Like, when I was Peru, I had the Shining Path come back. Couple of days later, there was an article about the Shining Path and how they are coming back. |

Or like that one time when I said some guy named Joseph Liberator would be ruler of the world.. then it happened. Yeah. Maybe you guys just pick very plausible scenarios because you've been researching them, and maybe you only find them in great detail because a country is about to sway that way irl, but it's such a fantastic sounding scenario that you want your own words put into it. Maybe... |

Hmmm... Sorry Mr Hubris, but I prefer the Daxonian Paradox theory. It has a cool name. You can't fight that. Just like "No Child Left Behind," or "USA PATRIOT Act." And weren't those just excellent proposals? Oh, wait... |

I have been following this election almost as much as the US election in 2008. At least as much as I can: I dont know Farsi and there isnt much coverage anyway. I have to say I am both upset and intrigued. There is so much that can happen: clerical power struggle, revolution, nothing, Mousavi declared winner, revote... One thing we can say for sure: This is not China and this is not Zimbabwe. This would be a very interesting way to RP. Instead of your typical coup: have vote rigging. It's original. This really has a lot of RP opportunity I would do if we were starting now and I was Iran. Schwer, I do not think that Ahmadinejad would not have conceded. If Mousavi won and there was no rigging/coverup, Supreme Leader Khameini would have enforced it. There's a whole lot of speculation on why it was rigged. Ranging from feuds between Mousavi and Khameini to the RG to the fact that they do not want a reformist winning. It is going to be a very interesting week, month, etc. I, for one, am hoping for a revolution or something. |
