Since I don't do anything but stir up some interest in the OOC Columns (I do hope I don't distract too much attention from the RPing), and since I sort of jokingly mentioned an age thing, would anyone be up for a 'just for some fun' Census-mimicking info gathering? Purely anonymous, and if you wouldn't want to vote you'd just not vote. ![]() I think it could be slightly interesting. I don't know. Probably cover Political Ideologies (on a simple Matrix, Liberal/Moderate/Conservative.. yeah, that sounds broken I know.. but just try to think which way you'd classify your self if it came down to very basic terms I guess), Age Group, so forth. Neh - Maybe I have too much time on my hands now. Maybe that means I should try RP'ing and leaving the OOC Board alone. Who knows. |

Oh, and really - None of it should be too personal, unless you want to post a Political Compass. I'm hoping for the Polls to just remain anonymous, I believe the only people who can see who voted for what are the Admins anyway.. and we trust dear old Sel, Dax, and Apollo.. do we? >.> |

I think I'm due for another Political Compass quiz, like the CIA guys are due for psychoanalysis and lie detector... The question that often slips me up is the abortion one. I have to read it a couple times to make sure I get it right, since the terming is awkward. Economic Left/Right: 0.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.36 |

Economic Left/Right: -1.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26 I really dont think that is too terribly accurate becuase of the reason that you have to make a hard decision for or against and you couldnt be neutral on anything. Also, I am am fairly happy with my results becuase I am very centrist. |

Yeah, I agree. They would weigh them the same. It looks like I'm double talking myself nearly. So I stick with agrees or disagrees. Rarely do I do the strongs. If I do, there is a good chance it'll be countered later on anyways. My problem is economics and businesses and whatnot. And socials. Opposed to death penalty, but generally against abortion, unless it's rape or something. |

FML... http://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2008 http://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection Two links for analysis of where the candidates stood in the 2008 and 2004 elections, respectively (top: 2008, bottom: 2004) There's also other ones for other countries... I find it rather hilarious that they rate Obama on the right side. They based that off of what he has done and supported. Obama throws a real cloud of smoke apparently.... |

I honestly don't know how the Nationality one is going to work anonymously. Unless you mean the Race-basics: Caucasian Asian Black Et Cetera 0o erf, i think it'd be more interesting if we did the following: Regions of the World, perhaps. OR, we could just start a new thread that people could just post all that info they care to divulge about openly - Country of Origin/Ethnic Background/Region of the World. I'll leave that up to you guys to decide I guess. Next Poll I'm opening for the 21Census will probably be... Well, I'm not sure. Maikeru, help me come up with different ideas! Maybe Religion? |

Economic Left/Right: -0.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.59 I'd actually expected +4 or 5 at least for the Social Libertarian/Authotarian and +2 or something for Economic Left/Right. For the nationality poll, I suggest by region and race, ex: European Hispanic/Latino Middle Eastern African East Asian etc... Going only by race is more for a national US level, as you could be black but not 'African'. Of course if we can't decide on that we just have another poll first, like religion. |

As far as the economics go, I do. Aside from a bit of Keynesianism on the matter of recessions, I'm very much catering to Germany's corporations. And I'm all about rights and responsibilities, not just one or the other. |

As usual, -9.9, -9.9 . You can't be more anti-fascism then that. You can't be more anti-state than that either. However, I actually sympathize a bit with the economic right, because I think that Keynesian economics about as crazy as trickle-down, as they're both authoritarian (fail) economic philosophies. I'd prefer a horizontalist economic system but the Political Compass doesn't make that distinction. I don't really oppose the state on moral grounds though, mostly just logical ones

Sorry, but there's no logical reason to oppose the state. The state is necessary for a society to survive and advance, or some kind of centralized authority, at least. A society can not legitimately survive on its own without a government, authority, or hierarchy of some sort. The flaws in human nature prevent that from being feasible. My results coming soon. |

There's no logic in anything. There is personal opinions and belief, and what makes the individual happy. Thing is - What's good for the individual isn't good for every individual, even if that individual can find a few million who agrees on that political level.. there will always be a few million who don't agree as well. We should all go Microstate. Yeah! Or Anarchist. >.> (kidding)
