Frederick was like Hitler only smart, and perhaps not nearly as crazy lol.

Frederick gains his "tolerant" portrayal because he's too good of a leader to dump in the trash heap. They can stick anything they want on him.

Frederick knew what he was doing. He basically instigated the rise of Prussia/(later)Germany, mostly because before that (and even afterwards) the Northern German states lacked leadership and unity.

The reason the grossly inefficient Austrians were effective was because they managed to at least whip-up enough unity to hold an empire together. And somehow do a half-assed job of convincing people that ethnic Germans were well representing of them (in Eastern Europe mostly).

Apparently Franz Ferdinand wanted to turn Austro-Hungary into the United Austrian States or something along those lines. He had the maps drawn up and everything. By that point the identity of Austro-Hungary was wearing off so maybe he could've saved the empire and improved it in relevance. Damn Serbian assassin ... :(

Farrah Fawcett was probably the single most famous actress of her time. She basically pioneered the "helpless blond in a horror scene" role, and she made every woman cry in The Burning Bed and she influenced probably every actress that grew up in that era.

She wasn't a nobody. She just hasn't done anything in decades of note.

That's rubbish. No one has heard of her here except a few obscure people who also know some obscure bizzarro woman name Siuoxsie Sioux.

She's essentially a nobody and it has nothing to do with generation.

King Frederick the Great is a man of contradictions. He loved to read Cicero, but he would interrupt his readings to trounce the Austrians in Silesia. He played the flute and loved opera (going as far as to see them in occupied cities), but he also payed sometimes exorbitant fees to bring beautiful actresses to Germany: the same courtesy was not extended to actors. His letters and memoirs never really indicate that he had a romantic relationship with Katte, and indeed did nothing to raise Katte's family after he became king. Frederick was very close to Wilhelmina as well in his childhood, which indicates rather that he simply sought attachment wherever he could find it: which is understandable, since there was no early modern European Child Services to spirit him from his home -- although the British did make a small effort.

What's far more likely is that he was relatively celibate, given that he spent his entire day working and rarely doing other things. Not to mention he never really seemed to have many 'favorite' military officers on a personal level, as he'd routinely insult and belittle those who failed to meet his expectations. As a random aside, the guy he called 'Leonidas of the Elbe' died in battle. Prophet much?

That's my impression. The gay agenda just is trying to act like they are special when they are not.

Before some of y'all get on me. I am confident we have no one here that is part of the agenda despite being homosexually oriented.

Anyway, Michael Jackson's death is like Elvis's death. Would you complain about that?

Anyway, this thread is a megashit dump.

I passionately misworded my initial post on what my true feelings were, and instead let little minor frustrations come out. I don't really care how they may have made others felt toward me, or how I looked for saying them - all I will say is that it was just a wrongly worded message.

@Sel - Get over yourself.

The point was that it was stupid to make such a big deal of MJ's death, and the only real Racism I was trying to imply in the end was that people like the GOOD OLD REVEREND AL! was making a complete fucking mockery of Michael Jackson AND the Black Community as a whole.

Jamie Fox furthered this dipshittery and mockery, too, by claiming MJ as "his people's" and not the world's.

Michael Jackson is more Europe and Japan's pop star than he was the Black Community's pop star. Where the fuck were all these supporters before he died? Just meandering around hoping to find something else to be passionately mad about?

The only significant thing MJ did since the 80's was DIE.

Where as, say, Carradine or Mays is concerned - Sure, they didn't really DO much but they were still OUT THERE and being RECOGNIZED for things other than being a all-but-dead POP STAR with accusations against his name.

Face it - no one but you and a small cavalcade of shitties really, really care. Even then, it isn't even an HONEST feeling - it's a misplaced emotion. It's something you feel you can take up and mascarade around with, making it seem like it IS more important to you than it really, really is.

Also, Elvis did MUCH more than Jackson. I highly DOUBT my kids and their kids will honestly give a fuck about Jackson as opposed to Elvis.

@Dax

Honestly, I'm surprised that my Siouxsie joke caused this between you and Sel.

Back @Sel

In coincidentally, Siousxie's style of dress actually helped start the Goth movement of the 80's.

She herself ISN'T Goth (she is but for all intents of the word, as in her music and style was meant to be expressive and not depressing like many other Goth artists) but she is known today as to be one of the Pioneers of the style. That's had more impact than MJ's laughable antics that have turned into Adam Sandler jokes. (Reference "The Wedding Singer")

May I suggest - Get your head out of your ass. [It's quite dark and damp in there.]

@Jacob Oliver

Thank you.

You're the only one with balls out here, besides my stupid ass, it seems.

@Aramil

I think you're the only one who saw what I really meant.

You've always been one to be on top of getting emotional it seems, too.
(If you don't recall, this is CC/ClubCrKz back from the AIM Chat Room-based 'HEY LET'S MAKE ANOTHER RP BOARD' days)

@Amzi

I appreciate Sarcasm, but try to make it more 'funny'.

@Back at Sel over Farrah Fawcet

I hope you realize that "whore" was one of the women who helped revolutionize the image of Women via television, and was in fact one of the few 'idols' for Women in the 70's.

That "whore" did a lot more for society than some "woohoo" singing jackass.

@Sel over Mays

I admit - He WASN'T the most appealing guy to watch on Television, but in a way he's done a lot of revolutionizing as well. He's helped change the way the Market works in a sense, and was the FIRST to really make ANY Infomercial-based Product to become very, very mainstream.

Also, I was more saddened by his death because he seemed like a warm guy. I think he was very "fatherly" too, if you ever seen his Pitchmen Show.

@Sel over Ed McMahon

Lololololololol.

I'm not even going to bother anymore.

@Crackzilla

Why are you the only one out of the few I like that I really, really, really, really think would just be awesome to meet some day?

@Back at Amzi

Farrah died from Colon Cancer.

It's a bit different than just dying from being old.

@Recon

I know I respond sarcastically, a LOT, but I think MJ based Sarcasm is utter fucking fail.

Yes - He made some pretty bad ass songs, but after about 84ish or so.. he just dropped out. No one cared.. NO ONE, and the majority of us can't really say for sure anyway being as none of us seem to fit in that age group. All I do know is that apparently, he was big in Iraq in the early 90's.

THANK YOU HOLLYWOOD HISTORY!

Oh, shit, just contradicted my self. (MJ Sarcasm.. :[.. let's just call it Iraqi/Hollywood Sarcasm.)

----

So I got a little steamed out of feeling the pointlessness of even typing all of that up toward the end though, but do know I mean it all in love.

I recognize my initial post was stupid, but I just want to make a point -

We're all being pretty fucking stupid in this thread.

So how about I just revise the Argument -

It's pretty pathetic that Michael Jackson's death overtook everything from Iran's Failed Revolution-of-sorts, and any other mention to say "Oh, this person died too."

In fact - It's pretty fucking pathetic that anyone really cared as much as they did.

I don't think that it started anything with Sel and I. I have no idea why Siouxsie was brought into this... heh.

And saying Siouxsie isn't goth is just stupid. Obviously she is, and it's been a long-0time tradition for real goth bands (Bauhaus, Siouxsie, The Cure, The Sisters of Mercy were famous for it) to vehemently deny that they were goth, while the faux-goth trash that kids often mistake for goth (Slipknot, Manson, etc.) proclaim that they are the gothest things around. It's a conspiracy,. I tell ya.

Well, the way I was referring the whole Goth thing too was the "Manson" style of Goth.

She CREATED Goth, but a lot of people see "Goth" as something to do with Manson-style Goth. So, to say she CREATED Goth sounds more like an insult than it does an actual compliment - though, as far as you and I both know, it IS a compliment.. but as far as others, say as Sel, would know.. it'd be more like a laughable claim to glory.

PS - Oh, and I mentioned she died of Cancer as a joke.

Cash's darker stuff is the only stuff really worth listening to. That trumpet makes Ring of Fire impossible to take seriously, for instance. Deliah's Gone, on the other hand, is fairly powerful. His cover of Hurt was profound because it's a song about mortality from a man near to his death. It's just that much more meaningful.

Since its not everyday you can cover a black-man turned white-man Singer who may, or may not have gone and played with a few kids's Neverland in his Neverland Ranch, or may or may not have let these kids feel his musical passion. Or may or may not have had a rousing game of play the piper. Or may or may not have Pin the tail on the Donkey.

,02 Jul 2009 23.57.03] Friendly Muslim Nations: Egypt, Jordan, Mauritania

Can I ask a stupid questions??? Friendly Muslim nations? WTF? I thought Muslim and Jews hate each other...

Shoot I should add Turkey to that...

Same Turkey which Mein Kampf is a best seller?
Same Turkey which Jews have said they do not feel safe any longer?
Same Turkey which accused Israel of genocide in Gaza?
Same Turkey which holds military exercises with Syria?(*note, your friendly neighbour in east Med Greece held exercises with you, not those pesky Arabs).

:P hehe, since we have a new Turkey(were is he btw?)...let the gun and games begin. :ph43r:

The same Turkey that recognized Israel within a year.
Same Turkey that regularly genocides the Kurds and is known to have genocided the Armenians. ;)
Same Turkey that holds military exercises with Israel.

:lol:

Excuse me, where did I say love?

Maik thinks any land taken by Israel in 40 year old wars automatically makes Israel imperialist.

Well...

Which is true, right? Israel is imperialist, as all lands they claim do not belong to them. Therefor, Israel does not exist. Which makes them not imperialist but non-existant.

Confusing eh?

Don't forget how the Arabs have conquered and settled all of northern Africa and the Levant. Israelis at least returned to part of a land they lived in and ruled historically as supported by thousands of artifacts across Greater Israel. The Dead Sea Scrolls were found in Judea and Samaria, which the Arabs claim is theirs. Hmm....

This has gone off topic.

I hate….. the fact that the world is ignoring the truth that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Republican Governor of South Carolina Mark Standford colluded to murder Michael Jackson in a staged Heart attack to take the worlds attention away from their misdeeds!
