Of Nazi Germany's politics............

Quote:

Audra Shay Wins Young Republican Race Despite Facebook Racism Controversy

Audra Shay, 38, has won the post of chairman of the Young Republicans -- despite accusations that she endorsed racism on Facebook.

Shay's candidacy, supported by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, hit a snag in recent weeks when she responded to a comment made by a friend on Facebook saying "need to take this country back from all of these mad coons" with "You tell em Eric! lol." Other Young Republicans chimed in, saying the comment was racist and questioning Shay's response. Shay issued a statement saying she "was not aware of the racial comments until sometime later" and was only responding to her friend's other remarks.

I immediately deleted the derogatory and outright disgusting comments and subsequently posted a statement on my Facebook Status stating that in no way, shape or form are the comments posted by other individuals a reflection of me or my beliefs as an American, a Veteran, a Mother or a Candidate. I do not, nor would I ever, condone that type of language or behavior.

But more controversial comments from Shay were found by the Daily Beast. After an effigy of Sarah Palin was hung, she said "What no 'Obama in a noose? ... I am wondering if the guys with the Palin noose would care if we had a bunch of homosexuals in a noose." She's also written that President Obama "attacks white people" and posted a video claiming Obama believes he has to help African-Americans over whites to "ensure his own salvation."

Voters at the Young Republicans convention said the whole scandal was just politics.

"Elections bring a lot of emotion out of people," said delegate Katherine Miller, 24, Lexington, Ky. "But this controversy really is not the decisive factor for the majority of people voting here. There are so many important issues we are considering. It really has been played up a little bigger than it really is."

But I still think this is one of the greatest things ever said about a Republican.
I'm amused easily by childish things.

It's really not Young Republicans if a 38 year old is leading it...as has been stated.

I hate the Facebook Young Republicans' pages. For two reasons. One, the "Republicans" on there espouse their usual orgasms of tax breaks and all of this other shit....they don't act like Republicans who know how to change. The second, is that they typically are...just losers on the Facebook pages, with nothing else to do. I've never quite understood what it is is, these...YR's think they are helping out with.

I actually was on one of the boards one time...having a nice row with some cross eyed idiot from Tennessee or something, about Mexicans. She was under the impression that since a few Mexicans had somehow "harmed her family" (in a way she didn't describe mind you) that they all were evil.
Her mistake was that she was making her arguments in the worst possible English typing imaginable. So I uh, made the comment that her English was no better than our Mexican amigos, that she thought did not know English, and that when she had learned to sufficiently make an argument with proper English, that I would respond in kind. She failed to respond. Hypocritical bitch.

I just think Young Republicans are the biggest crock, despite my own previous intentions and encounters (browsing the YR FB pages, and...being the YR president in my school lol). They mindlessly support the party...and degrade themselves to the kind of conversation, like this. I honestly wouldn't put it past this "chairwoman" to have done it.

I have to agree with that women bugs. Mexicans are evil. They take the low wage jobs that many Americans would fight for. They want to raise their families in the US and don’t pay taxes, yet we have to pay for their kids in school there is a immigration service with 100,000s of officers who have to chase down someone crossing the Rio Grand rather then Al Qaeda. Its time we told Mexico no. Its not like States such as Texas get massive amounts of economic growth from trading with Mexico. Or that Mexico is a huge market for US goods.

No these people trying to find a better life are scum, hey where does it say in the US, that you have to take the poor or the huddled masses? Nowhere that’s right!

America should have a legal guest worker program and earned citizenship, so these workers get fair pay and conditions and get screwed like anyone else who pays their taxes. I just don’t understand America. It’s commonly thought wrongly that if a person enters the economy, they take a job from another person. If I am employed it doesn’t mean that someone else has lost their shot. No economy has a fixed number of jobs.

Its common sense to bring these people in legally.

I'm not completely disagreeing with the idea that we need to fix immigration, and illegal immigration at that.
We need to make it easier for them to come work and live here. Establish a more forceful system of legal immigration and all. Educate prospectus immigrants on how to do it properly. And as implied, take down those who are using the situation to their benefit Mexican or hiring manager.

Mexico could really use a boot up its ass too for not doing a better job on its side of the border though. But they have their own problems.

My beef was just that this woman seems to think that due to the fact that this one bunch had somehow stolen their money, and didn't do a job or something, that ALL of the Mexicans were bad. The guilty by association thing. Or stereotyping.

EDIT: MAJOR OOPS....I somehow missed the sarcasm. Hence the question marks at the top...

It's ok lol. I don't mind it. It's just a bit more difficult to read it...than to see it if you know what I mean?
And then when I did grasp the fact that it was RECON talking...I said "wait a second...did he really just say that?!? Nahhh..."

I do appreciate it. Your not being sarcastic to ME directly per se lol.
