My collection? Uh... that'd take a while. I counted them last year and topped out at exactly 1103 books. As of right now? I'd say I'm at 1120, give or take a couple.

1,103? Jeebus, I won't even read that many in like.... lifetimes...

Anyhow, I have two places where I place my books where I live. One place has two collections of encyclopaedias. These books are all for looks, as both of them are from the 80s' and as one states "It is unlikely that Germany may be united again."

My other collection however is somewhat awesome. I have books from when I was a kid (Duck Dodgers), the Calvin & Hobbes collection, and some books for good reading (like Bourne series... although considering haven't read a book for leisure in a good two years at least... literally, I have no new books). That and some history and Canadian law books. Oh, the the best two books without question is my Zombie Survival Guide, and the Truth on Chuck Norris.

I'll give pics tomorrow if I feel like snapping them. Btw that is an impressive collection Rommel.

WTF do you people have houses? Or do you live in a bookshop? I have about 30-50 books but nothing like the numbers people here talk about.

What's a book?

Seriously, not sure how many. Maybe a hundred or so. Very few are fiction though so I don't have to read them cover-to-cover.

I rarely read fiction, I also have a meager collection of books, but here are some I have read in the last few months:

Lone Survivor- Marcus Lutrell
The Post-American World- Fareed Zakaria
Hubris- ?
The End of Faith- ?

About a year ago, I read Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns which are amazing books.

I probably top 1000 if you include kiddie books.

Mine are all labelled and sorted by Dewey Decimal Classification, although I have yet to catalog them.

I highly recommend doing it though. Helps you find everything you need. Before I did all this my books were strewn haphazardly around my room and the shelved books were just smooshed together. Now it's all neat, but I need more space because I kept taking free books from my colleg library book giveaway.

But it's just plain awesome to be able to think Mongolia and shoot over to 958.

I'd take a pic, but all my cameras suck and I'm lazy. Maybe later.

That's pretty ridiculous. My 'collection*' is about 500, and half of them are packed away. Mine are mostly organized per bookcase (since they're kinda helter-skelter), with the big ones being Early Modern (1400-1700), Revolutionary (1700-1850), Modern (1850-Present), Military, Fantasy, and the aptly-named 'Random Shit.' You may or may not be delighted to know that 'Random Shit' includes everything from Luther's German language bible (Die Bibel) to my research papers and essays.

* = does not include military field manuals, because that's just not fair. Even if 23-10 occupies a special place in this gun nut's heart.
