Also, they

So, do you have any sort of evidence to back up this claim that the Israelis somehow never received one of those rifles; or, is this just a random claim you've pulled out of thin air for the make benefit of Holy Israel?

What makes it all the funnier is that X is actually wrong. They weren't dumped on Israel. A reparations agreement wasn't in place until 1953, after Israel had fought the 1948-49 war. And, even then, it says nothing about military hardware. Israel's primary military backer in those early years was France, although American involvement stepped up under Eisenhower.

Coincidentally, the Russians dumped at least six million Mosin Nagants on the international arms market, and the French were busy phasing out the MAS-36, and everyone from Australia to America was downsizing their standing forces, so it's not like there was some lack of arms to be bought at dirt cheap prices. Especially not when countries had massive debts to pay.

Effectively dumped on them.

At the same time it wasn't difficult to find weapons, through the 1950s it was really quite easy. The 1960s countries were still selling off WWII-era weaponry, some of it being upgraded (like those US destroyers that are now spread throughout the world's most pathetic fleets).

The SKS had a great vogue in client-states of the USSR until the mid-to-late 1960s. Snipers in Vietnam often ended up with a Mosin-Nagant.

France backed Israel I think partly because they figured Israel was a better ally in the region then the various Arab countries, all in the midst of upheaval, from Egypt to Iraq.

Which did not necessarily have the stockpiles to continuously arm and equip Israel through the 1970's. And, I'll add, was at that point a satellite state of the Soviet Union.

One word posts are not arguments. I still see a stark lack of statistics on your side, as well as a lack of the demanded sources. Rectify that or don't bother replying.

You did not demand anything. I was just noting one of the early suppliers of arms to Israel.

I demanded a source to substantiate your claim that the Kar 98ks Israel received were not used in the manner you claimed they were not used in.

I was referring to the tanks. But in any case, the Nazis used machine guns and gas primarily to kill Jews. Arguably some of those rifles were probably used, but not to commit more than a small portion of the Holocaust. It is just too inefficient.

The rifles were possibly used by people who defended an Empire who killed Jews. That is acceptable?
