Baseball: Yankees Football/NCAAF: Miami Dolphins, University of Oklahoma and Navy MLS: DC United FIFA: US, Australia, England Swimming (Olympic, international): US (Michael Phelps, not necessarily for his popularity, but he swims the 200 meter free, and holds the record for the longest American distance swimmer) Australia (Ian Thorpe, he swims the 400 meter freestyle, which I have done on occasion but more often the 500 yard freestyle, which is nearly equivalent, and Grant Hackett, since you have to be super badass at swimming to be fast at the 1500 meter freestyle). |

Football/ Not “Soccer” : Bolton Wanderers. I live in Manchester but I am certainly not a sell out like most people who support United and never go to any games. FIFA: England and Ireland. Btw guys (UK) is not a team in international football. If you support all the teams Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales it’s the “Home nations” RL: Wigan Warriors Swimming: I have been watching it since Phelps at Beijing just watched the 2009 World Aquatics Championships in Rome and the UK are not doing too badly, Australia seem to be really sucking. Amazed that Phelps managed to beat Milorad Cavic on the 100-metre butterfly, I thought he was destined for Silver but he clawed it back. I expect big things at 2012 both for Phelps and Team GB, I think we are going to break some records. A lot of young swimmers. |

Corrected...I just pick England for FIFA as a backup kind of, so that if a team beats out America, that I have someone to root for to beat the other son of a bitch. GB isn't doing too bad. You may be right that they are in a growing time. However, I'm quite sure Michael Phelps' dominance will remain. That guy is crazy. He took in all the smack that Cavic had to say, and just unleashed it on his ass the World Championships here. His time was like 8 tenths of a second better than Beijing. That's no bullshit there now, he was really pushing himself. Or well, the last leg of it he was hehe As for Australia sucking....lol is all I've got to say. I think its got alot to do with the suit though. I don't know how...but if you'll note that China, Russia, and Germany all slipped into the spots between Australia and the US since Beijing. I don't know what those teams were wearing this time around, and I am unaware of what it was last year. But I know that the Arena X-Glide was worn by that one bloke from Germany who broke Ian Thorpe's 400 meter record. It's also magical how Serbia moved up to uh..8th and were essentially out of the picture a year ago. |

Phelps was one angry man at the end of that race however he is also a man on the top of his game and has a huge ability, domination in nearly every event. The US always wins the relays so obviously America will maintain its domination in swimming. I was amazed to see that woman Torres 42 and still swimming. I was also amazed to look at Ian Thorpe’s wiki he’s only 26 and he says he has no motivation? Well let’s get him in the pool with Phelps and have a few races! Winning $1 million for seven gold’s, that is an incentive! The suits are been banned for 2010; I think it’s a shame. If you introduce the suits keep them, because quite a few times will have been set with the suits which in 2010 will be harder to break without. Btw, God is NFL? So really Christianity, Judaism and Islam have been worshipping a collection of teams in a certain league for thousands of years before said game was created? |

That was in November...after the Olympics, and before he started training again. True, what he did in effect advocates that it's ok to tear up your body, even if your training for such an intensive sport. But he it's not like MLB, where he used it for a special enhancement to help with his swimming. I ain't going to defend it to much. But it's just stupid to try and bring down an overall hero. It's like that part in the the Dark Knight, where Fox explains to the business man, Reese(?) that when Reese found out that Gothams richest man is "masquerading as a caped crusader, and his intention was to blackmail that person." I like my heros to last. |

Well I like his strategy in a way. Channel in the anger and all into the swimming. Sounds evil, but hey. It works lol. As for Ian Thorpe, I doubt he'll make a come back really. It's kind of hard to see your record smashed, and yet it involves controversy. Plus, it takes a real helluva lot to even want to train up to do that. The guy probably banks in Australia, and doesn't need the endorsements really anymore. I don't think he'd be motivated by Phelps, mostly since he specialized in a different event. 200 meters and 400 meters is one hell of a difference. I honestly don't think it's a shame. If they are so controversial, might as well. We need to preserve some sense of relative humanity here. I've grown tired of MLB for the same reason: performance enhancements. I mean yeah, you have to already be pretty good to use that stuff, like these suits. But it shouldn't be something that the sport becomes centered on: who uses the "best" suit. Mind you, Phelps set a new record in a less "capable" suit. Plus the challenge of beating the suits for 2010, 2011, and 2012 (short course, long course, Olympics) will be much better. Anyhow, they should have been banned. And never even allowed. I thought it was supposed to be a temporary thing anyways. |

Well not necessarily heros as a whole. But if you take it out of the actual role, and applied it to real life in a sense, we have this nasty tendency to try and humanize our "heros" as soon as possible. Sure, they eff up sometimes. But it's like a complete stunner because people think that that's all they are, is some super human or something, and that they aren't human. And that's stupid. You have to take everything that the most popular do with a kind of grain of salt. They should be treated much the same as others, but be given some since of reverence, since a great deal of the people need someone to look up to. But I leave room for those, who idolize themselves, and don't quite get that they are a minority. |

This is going to sound incredibly nerdy, but seeing as I am indeed a nerd and my nickname is actually Yoda already... It's a lot like how Mace Windu duels, he channels his dark side tendencies into his combat, giving him the incredible amount of power present in his unique lightsaber technique. Episode III makes Windu look like a pussy, btw. There would have been a whole hell of a lot more fight in him than the movie suggests. |
