The simulations are posted in this thread, which is updated the fourth quarter of each year (or thereabouts) and take effect beginning the first quarter of the following year. The year in parenthesis next to each nation represents the last year that country will reside in the council. The United Nations Security Council composition beginning 2018 is as follows. Q4 2016 Election for the Rotating positions on the UN Security Council. These shall stand until Q4 2017 African Group (3 members) -- Equatorial Guinea -- Zambia -- Nigeria Western Europe and Other (2 members, one must be from W. Europe) -- Israel -- Switzerland (Western European) Asia-Pacific Group (2 members, one must be from the Arab countries) -- Japan -- Saudi Arabia (Arab) Eastern European Group (1 member) -- Republic of Macedonia Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) (2 members) -- Cuba -- Guyana OOC: For reference, I chose them on the basis of alphabetical order. I entered the total number of countries in a group into random.org's integer number generator and then how many spots they had and then counted from the top to wherever that was. If there was an issue I went to the nearest country which would solve that issue. Any questions, comments, concerns, please let me know. |
