3 men went into a motel. The clerk said the room was $30, so each man paid $10 and went into the room. Later, the clerk realized that the room was only $25, so he sent the bellboy to their room with $5. On the way, the bellboy could not figure out how to split the $5 evenly among the 3 men. So, he gave each man $1 and kept the remaining $2 for himself. This meant that the 3 men each paid $9 for the room, which is a total of $27. Add the $2 that the bellboy kept = $29. Where is the other dollar? Good Luck.....

anyway..back to the question.. they shoudn't ask the question like this hehe when the bellboy give the $1 back to every guy that means every guy paid the $9 so $9x3=$27 the clerk said that the fee for the room is $25 so..the question is abit making ppl confuse hehe and im not that 'confuse ' yet hehe so when the bellboy give the $1 to every guy the bellboy is abit 'suku' so...the bellboy should give $2 to two guys and $1 to one guy and everything will be done haha dunno u guys get it o not hehe |

no one can answer the question... u see...each paid 9 n total is $27 right? no wrong. but...the $2 kept by the bellboy suppose to be return to those 3 men right? means...$27 - $2 = $25 the rate is $25, they paid $30 suppose they will have $5 returned with only a total of $25 paid but only $3 returned... means they paid...$30 - $3 = $27 totally, with $2 for the bellboy(he kept $2) n 25 for the room therefore, 3 of them pay a total of $27 it has nothing to do with $30 it's tricky,
it can also be explained that... $ received by men is positive sign n $ paid by men is negative sign... they paid $30 = - $30 n received $ 3 = $3 totally they paid... - $30 + $3 = -$27 they paid 27... i remind u, paid is negative ok? therefore... they paid $25 for motel n $2 for bellboy...... -$27 = - $25 - $2 but the question there says..."add the $2......" which is wrong question. the addition of $2 is already in the total of $27... suppose that they pay $25 but the bellboy kept the $2 so all together they paid $25+$2=$27 $30 split like this... $3 to 3 men $2 to bellboy $25 for room

LoLZz.... acsh@syw answered it right..............  well, to make it simpler.................. They spent $30 for the room $3 come back.............. $2 is with the bell boy.... so that $3 and $2 = $5 The $5 come back already.... so $30 - $5.... the room costs $25... The last line was made to confuse us only.......
Instead of "ADD" the $2, should be "Subtract" so the 3 ppl paid $25 for the room... |
