A Teenager's Life I’m at lost of words to say or write. I try my very best to come up with something but nothing comes through my mind. Probably I should just put in words whatever that comes into my mind now and to all the readers out there, I would like to apologize beforehand if I would offend you in any ways with this piece of mine. Peer pressure…what is peer pressure all about? Well I have been a teenager (and I still am) and I testify that when you face it, it is a higher barrier to overcome than passing SPM, STPM, A-level or college exam! I never find it easy to decline friends’ invitations knowing that I will be the odd one out among the others. Where would you go if your friends decided to go for a late night movie or a party? You would like to go but you have no transport. I would watch movies and go for a party of course because it is not often I manage to get together with friends. Before you know it, you are tied down by age and responsibilities of life, if you know what I mean. We should cherish moments like these. All those forbidden activities that your peers are doing (or not) may seem not to be as bad as it can get, but there are times when your peers SURPRISE you with their doings and influence you when you don’t realize it. I offer no remedy for this situation but my only advice is STUDY! Seriously, when I started my college life, my chances to hangout became far between. Friends or not, teenage life is the best time for anyone to socialize and gain more knowledge, or friends, whichever way you put it. A friend once told me that value of friendship dawned on him during a recent trip we had together with our usual bunch of friends. When all of us were at the mountain, the sun began to set. It was a remarkable sight. It was then when he realized that this could be the first and last time the group of friends, all who had done countless activities together, went through thick and thin together, would gather to witness such an event. Even in our daily lives, we still go out and have a good time together. When something happens to one of us, we readily offer our hand. With thoughts of all those good old times, I was struck with awe too. How often do you get to see the sun set, in a cooling place with your best friends? Never take your friends for granted. Hey quarrels and misunderstandings do happen here and there, but in the end, you’ll end up together again as you work things out. That’s how it was with me…and I hope it will always be. So, to all the boys and girls out there, I hope you would learn to appreciate your friendship with others and at the same time, grow to enjoy your life as a teenager. There are many fishes in the sea, And sands on the ground, But true friends like thee, Rarely be found. by Ng Yoong Chze of 1st Kuala Lumpur (Taken from BBM website) p/s: I personally like this article v much.. meaningful.... enjoy.
