Unless the match is incredibly laggy, I don't have to have a perfect connection to determine someone's skill. I can tell when someone is better than me or not or on the same level. |

Cause I do my homework before and after the meetup lol I don't spend all day doing them, but I was saying that if we have the tourney on Saturday, along with a meetup, then I'm gonna have some trouble.
I'm saying that lag plays a HUGE role in determining skill. You could be a state pro, but lag can make you look like a total noob, because you're not used to the delay / lag, which is a poor way to determine who's good. I know where you're going though. Online should be online skill and vice-versa for offline. Edited by Dark Link, Apr 15 2009, 06:19 PM.

You know what else can make you look like a noob, constantly complaining about lag. Just saying. |

This is an online tournament. Therefore, those who have more SKILL in ONLINE SETTINGS and LAG will do BETTER. |

Maybe cause lag doesn't prove how skilled you are in Brawl? Just saying lolMKWii Baddie. So apparently from what I'm getting here If you're skilled on Wi-Fi, you're skilled Offline, so how come none of you "Skilled players" have won any Brawl tournaments? Edited by Dark Link, Apr 15 2009, 08:35 PM.

That isn't what anyone has been saying. The point people have been trying to make is that online skill isn't the same thing as offline skill. Experienced players don't bother complaining about lag because they know that Brawl WiFi is almost like a different game than Brawl offline; therefore, failing in an online match doesn't reflect on your offline skill at all. |

Who was talking about what lag proves? That's completely irrelevant. Let me remind you, we were discussing if a player's skill can be judged online. I'll put it in simpler terms. If someone is good online (with lag), then they're good online (with lag). Since the tournament happens to be online (with lag) and the theoretical seeding would be online (with lag), then using online (with lag) to determine how the online (with lag) tournament should be seeded makes perfect sense. There are no inconsistencies. I still don't think you'll get what is being said though so I'll rephrase it again. How do you determine someone's performance under certain conditions? You test them under those certain conditions. Simple enough, right? So. The conditions are online. The testing is the preliminary round robin to determine seeding. No problems here.
Where you come from, if you're "skilled offline" you're supposed to have won at least one brawl tournament? Edited by phoenix, Apr 15 2009, 08:51 PM.

Then that makes much more sense! You guys were making it out like if you're pro on Wi-Fi, then you're pro offline. Like I said, I understand what you mean. Online skill for online and vice-versa for Offline. |

However, there is SOME correlation between how good some people are online and offline. I could whoop any of you offline, and I'm still good online. :3 /Cockybastard |

Shameless bragging is AWESOME! Mainly because you get to be an E-Thug, and we all know how pro E-Thugs are. Edited by Dark Link, Apr 16 2009, 11:54 PM.

Um... DL? Your remark to the second part of his post means you concede the first part. So... it's over. There's no real argument here. Everyone chill out. |

Since no one has objected to the 4:00 PM time, I'm going to go ahead and use that. The next subject is the date. How does May 2nd sound? It's a Saturday. (DL, the tournament will have to take priority over the meetup in this case :P) |

Phoenix is QQing over nothing like a little girl and has blocked Jake from posting on BDC, so I'm here to deliver a message from him about the tournament! Jake said (6:31 PM): "Since no one has objected to the time, I'm going to go ahead and try to figure out the date. How does May 2nd sound? (DL, tournament should take priority over meetup :P). As for my response, any date is fine for me

I objected to 4PM on page 3. My post says I'm free anytime "after" 4PM. I'm usually home by 4:15 though. |

And apparently he blocked me or something, because I've said TWICE that I can do the tourney any weekday, because I don't do my HW until the weekends >_>
Why does that matter lol I'm only at the meetup for Brawl / trivia anyways.
how did I concede the first part? I agree with him on it. There's a difference in skill on wi-fi and offline, they're not the same thing >_> Asides from this crap, we NEED to get this rolling, I wanna see how bad I get my ass kicked lol Edited by Dark Link, Apr 18 2009, 04:04 AM.
