I don't mind single player hacking. As for multiplayer, if the hack gives the player an advantage, then I am against it. Other than that, no.
So if you're playing Pokemon online and the other guy starts out with shiny Mewtwo, even though he did not hack any of the stats, only the Shiny status (which doesn't give him an advantage) are you seriously going to consider the competition fair?
Yes, how is it not fair? If the stats are all legit then there's no advantage. Like NFK said, it's basically just like putting on an alternate jersey.

Ok. Try getting in a completely fair Pokemon match online in which the other guy has six shinies. You play well but you lose. He gets a little lucky with hits and crits.

Like it or not, you will be upset because he hacked.

I'm not sure I fully understand you..

If you're asking if I would be upset because I lost to someone who has hacked shinies, then the answer would be no. His hack gave him no advantage, so he won fair and square, assuming that's the only hack he used.

If you're saying that it bothers you if you lose to someone with hacked shinies because of the fact that you don't know for sure if the Pokemons' stats might be hacked as well, then that's understandable. The fact that he has hacked shinies shows that he has the ability to hack, meaning that it's impossible (or at least really difficult) to know if their stats are hacked as well.

Yes, duh, that's what I'm saying.

Well no, I still wouldn't be mad. Once again, I don't care about multiplayer hacking if it doesn't benefit the player in any way.

Except, not duh, because you really didn't say that at all. :P

"even though he did not hack any of the stats, only the Shiny status (which doesn't give him an advantage)"

You made it sound like we know that no other stats were hacked.

you can actually double check to see if the stats were hacked (at least in pokemon) by spending thirty seconds with a damage calculator or looking up base stats on serebii.

That is what I said.

You have no clue whether his stats are hacked or not. He says the only thing he hacked was his shinies.

Well, if you want to be pessimistic and think of every negative scenario, then yes, I would be pissed at a person potentially hacking.

Urgh. You guys are missing the point.

If you're playing a hacker online, even if they say they aren't giving themselves an advantage, you won't think hacking is so great if you lose.

Which will explain how judgmental we are. Regardless if we win or not, we'll assume the guy hacked something else besides "Shiny Status", but was rather bad at it.
