So I don't think DSi sucks as much fecal matter as you all seem to think it does. |

I'm with Phoenix. Two things. -SD card support. This could easily mean big things. Transferring SNES games from the Wii for play on the go(Potentially), not to mention the softmod capabilities. -Virtual Console. Unconfirmed, but likely to havve GB / GBC / GBA compatibility through this. I'm waiting to see what the DSi has instore, but I'm not writing it off JUST yet. |

Then what's so good about it? The only benefit I can see is the larger screens and bigger skin [zomg, MKDS Snaking], but everything else seems to be a con compared to the Lite =/
Aren't flash cards considered "VC Material" to an extent? lol I mean I can understand from the piracy issues and such. SD Card support I'll give props to that. If Ninty can pull off something epic with that, then I'll be amazed. Edited by Dark Link, Apr 5 2009, 08:32 PM.

I think i'll just wait it out for another month or two and see how the DSi develops and then make a decision. I do hate those squishy DS Lite buttons though, thanks phoenix for reminding me. |

There was a recent Wii system update that allows you to play VC and WiiWare games directly from the SD with improved loading speed. I think the update was on March 25th, but I didn't get the memo until April 2nd. |

Wii shipped with a SD slot but it had very few uses until March 25th. |

Wasn't the use for SD cards originally to be a back-up save card until they screwed with that in a system update? That was the only use for it IIRC |

lol. I just plug my sister's old ipod nano that she gave me in to the back usb port on my 360 and put it out of sight. When i want to add more music i just sync the ipod and its never in the way so i dont have to move it, and i can easily navigate to it with the menu button on the controller. |

Well my DS phat just broke down. (thingy that connects the 2 screens broke) Now my mom wants me to buy a new one. But i have some awesome Homebrew that acts much like an organizer for me now. So what should i do? buy a DS lite or a DSi. I cant find any more DS phat. (i like the DS phat better cuz im comfortable with it.) |

Lite is obv better, but if you like the UBER PHATNESS of the old DS, then debatable I guess? I dunno if +$30 is worth getting an inferior DS of the 2 |

DS Phat isn't necessarily inferior. Sure, it's heavier, clunkier, uglier, and less comfortable to hold. The battery life is slightly shorter and the screens are less bright. But some people prefer them. I prefer mine. Just because clicky buttons own squishy buttons any day of the week. Which is why I'm interested in DSi. And which is why, I think, Klaw should look at the DSi. And if he really wants to I'm sure he can find a used DS Phat lying around. |

btw. I actually found a DS phat in some store but its awfully damaged. like a few more hours of using that thing it would prolly break down lol. so i didnt buy it. Im prolly gonna look at the DSi like you said, but, not having a gba slot might not make me buy it lolz. |

You're probably going to have to go to Craigslist/eBay if you want a DS Phat. You can find them cheap too. The DSi is just very unimpressive in it's current state. It does little right, and the lack of a GBA slot is a huge setback for me. Until they get some aps/games for download that aren't COMPLETELY STUPID, I have no respect for the DSi. |

I meant DSi, not Phat lol Otherwise I would've said inferior of the 3. I understand the pros to having a Phat over a lite. I was just saying that getting a DSi solely for the "Phatness" of the handheld isn't probably worth spending $30 more compared to the Lite. |

I hope every one of you that's hatin' on the DSi still plays GBA games more than 2 hours per month. |

I do. Golden Sun and Mario Tennis: Power Tour are games I turn to when I feel like it. Speaking of Golden Sun, DSi can't play it. Fail.
