restarting
Well, THAT's why you don't think it's hard.

In battle saving is stupid.
Battle Save isn't in any game except RD Easy and Normal.

By restart I mean the entire level because Your Lord died to a crit that shouldn't have happened.

So, out of curiosity, when doing a solo, are there any rules and such? I'm doing a Frey solo in Shadow Dragon right now, but obviously in the earlier chapters some of the other characters are gonna get caught in the crossfire.

What exactly would constitute a solo?

Well, you can either let the earlier characters die, or just not use them.

Make sure they are unequipped.

A non-Lord Solo may be interesting cause you still have to have Marth deployed, so you'd need to protect him.

But really...

-Make sure the only character doing battle is your soloer of choice.
-No Arena abuse.

So unequip them so they don't fight back. Alright. I guess chapter 1 is null then, because I had them equiped, they got attacked but fought back, but I never initiated any combat with those characters, nor moved them away.

Well, things like that don't change TOO much. But yeah, from now on just unequip them.

Okay... So I'm up to mission 6, Fire Emblem. I just got destroyed. Badly. Frey's level 20, Marth's level 2 (leveled during the tutorial), and I got swarmed by everything on the map and killed. I'm at a loss, how do I survive on a map where I can't fort up and defend wave after wave?

Hm... For My Marth solo, by this time I had ensured he had enough Defense that literally, only Magic users could damage me.

If you don't care for the treasures, use a door key on the cell Rickard is in, and defend in there. Make sure Frey has Javelins.

If you're having trouble here, things WILL be EXTREMELY difficult up to Chapter 10, where you get your first Master Seal. In the future, saving (By use of save point) when near a level and resetting until youget a great level up, is a very useful thing for solos.

Okay... So I'm guessing my problem is that Marth is only level 2 and untouched, pretty much, and Frey is apparently sloppily leveled up.

When you say "great level up" what do you mean. I think I'm going to try this again from the beginning and do a Marth/Frey duo, since I'm not skilled enough to do a full solo yet.

Well, by 'Great' Level up, I mean, generally, at least 3 statups, and Focusing on HP, STR, SPD, and DEF. I usually go for 3 Level ups, including at least 2 of these stats. Sometimes I'll make an exception if say it's only STR or SPD + Defense. Cause Defense is rarer (Or, at least it was in my case, I dunno what Frey's Def growth is)

DEF is the hard one to come by, but if you can get that one up, the enemy will be unable to touch you.

And a word of advice, without saying to much... When you get the chance, stock up on Pure Water. A lot.
