Are they worth it? Yes or no?

No. If you know what you're doing, you can spend half as much for twice the quality on a DESKTOP. But if you want an awesome gaming laptop in a neat little package that sits on your lap, ... uh... maybe. If you wanna play Crysis. But I wouldn't recommend gaming laptops to ANYONE. They're not upgradeable and PC's need that.

What phoenix said.

If you are really dead set on getting a laptop, I would ask on the GameFAQs PC hardware board...and search around Google. I'm sure there are better deals than Alienware for ANYTHING. They're good, however, you're paying a lot of money for the brand name.

^ I read that you're mostly paying for the name. But I also heard building a PC is the way to go. Except I'm not smart like that. I might get an XPS Studio laptop instead. The only reason I'm dead on a laptop is portability, and college. Because I type faster than I write. I also maybe wanna do some movie editing and I saw that and it was pretty good on the XPS

Building a PC desktop is the way to go. As for building a laptop, that would wind up costing you way more time and money than buying a pre-made one would. I've actually asked this question on tech forums before, and I was laughed at. lol

If you ever wanted to build a desktop, you really don't need to be smart. It's like putting together a puzzle. Follow a guide and it should be easy enough considering the far cheaper cost.

To buy a good laptop, like I said, post a topic on Afterdawn.com or search on NewEgg.com or ask on GameFAQs PC hardware board before deciding to go with Alienware.

I would also recommend looking through these and finding a laptop that seems to suit you: http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=32&name=Laptops-Notebooks

The NewEgg reviews are very helpful.

I think I'm just going to stay with Dell. I've been with them for a very long time and never had a problem.
