120 hours of no sleep

I think I'm just going to go three days instead of four at this point. I only got six hours of sleep last night (after forty-two hours of being awake) and I'm already feeling pretty crappy. I've got next to nothing to do during the time period that I usually sleep because everyone else is sleeping. In the end, this is just a trial anyway, to help prepare me for my ultimate goal during summer.
Alright, I've decided that I'm just going to give it up for now and try again during winter break if I have time.

Right now I'm in really bad condition for sleep deprivation. I just went through forty-two hours and only got six hours of sleep in between. I still have school to worry about and I have this really shitty feeling in my stomach at the moment.

Next time, I will be planning precisely what I do each day so that I have something to keep me awake. Last night or last last night or whatever, I blacked out because I had nothing to consciously put my mind on. 42 hours down the drain.

It's really embarrassing and unsatisfying to be giving up right now, but I'm not fully giving up as I'm going to try again next break. My goal is still on for two weeks during summer (or maybe the summer after that  )

Overall, this was a really fun and interesting experience. I can now say that the first time I ever hallucinated was not because I was drunk. Can't wait for winter.

actually, staying up depends on how fast or how slow you convert energy and how long Adenosine takes to reach the receptors, the longer you stay awake, and the more often you fight to stay awake when your brain receives the Adenosine signals, the slower it will be, because I've done it often enough I can make 72 hours seem like Child's play, however that will probably be my maximum limit, if i want to try and break a world record, I'll probably do it for a different category (though staying up for more than a week straight is a good challenge)

Also, Guinness no longer accepts records for sleep deprivation because of possible health risks.

From Wikipedia:

2005: Lee Seung Seop, a 28-year-old South Korean, collapsed of fatigue and died after playing the videogame Starcraft online for almost 50 consecutive hours in an Internet cafe.[145]

Good luck Bacon. I found pulling an all-nighter helps if you dunk your head in a bucket of almost freezing water with ice cubes, but I actually haven't tried doing two nights ever. I do however stay up late after an all-nighter which is only 5 or 6 hours or so until two days.

Can I ask, is Hawaii (that's where you live, right) on vacation/holiday/breakup thing? Cause otherwise this would certainly be horrible.

Ehehe, check this out. Matt and Trey, the creators of South Park made a short film staying up for 6 and a half days. Ah.. painful!

Thanks Alpha. I already tried and got to forty-two hours before passing out, so I'm going to try again this Christmas break. I have a five day break for Thanksgiving starting Thursday but I'm not going to do it then.

In the meantime I'm going to be doing some "experiments" over the weekends. Hawaii education sucks and can't afford to pay its teachers to work anymore, so we basically take every Friday off for the rest of the year. It's pretty awesome.

That's what college is like, only instead of teachers not teaching, kids just don't do any learning, and instead choose to sleep or get hammered, and often both.

Case in point: There's already been one 3 day stretch that included two weekdays of class where I didn't leave my dorm.

Took me two years to wake up and be (mentally) present at University class.
