This thread is about TV shows that were still popular when they ended, and weren't cancled. What shows were still very popular at the times that they ended production?

I know of the following:
I Love Lucy
The Andy Griffith Show
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
The Bob Newhart Show
The Muppet Show
M*A*S*H
Fraggle Rock
St. Elsewhere
Newhart
Full House
Seinfield
Friends
Everybody Loves raymond
That '70s Show
King of Queens

Did it end production because it was cancled by the network, or did the shows producers decide that it was the right time to end it? A lot of shows that were cancled are still popular.

Oh, I thought it was clear. I made this thread to list shows that were still popular in the ratings when they ended, and the producers of the shows chose to end the shows then instead of waiting for people to stop watching.

I know of one example, if I read this topic correctly:

Home Improvement.

From what I read, Tim Allen decided not to push for another season when the last season ended... his reason was that he wanted to go out with a bang while still high in the ratings.

There was "Lassie"

It wasn't officially CANCELED, I mean, the dog itself DIED if I remember correctly. So the show ended, But was never brought back.

Actually, Lassie was played by many different dogs during the shows run.
