Rate the current Boomerang channel and its lineup, on a scale of one to ten.

I give it a 6/10.

It's improved from a few months ago. Boomeraction was revived (at least for last Saturday), although Batman and Superman are still AWOL (Jetix helps out on that point). Boomeroyalty is nice, but I think weekly rotations would be better instead of having to wait a full month for a different series to take the spotlight.

On the weekday schedule, there are some awesome pros.

- They're airing the "Unlimited" seasons of Justice League now... It was getting monotonous to see the same old JL rerun over and over.
- SWAT Kats are joined by Space Ghost and Dino Boy.
- Flintstones and the classic Scooby Doo are back in prime time.
- Pokemon and What's New Scooby Doo aren't.

There's only one Con I can think of...

- Looney Tunes are still currently off the air. I mean, c'mon! Even Boomeroyalty's not touching them!

Though Duck Dodgers WAS last month's King of Cartoons...

And this month, it's Popeye... (I can't help but think that one of the six points you gave, Panther, were for this reason.... ;) ^_^ )

I think I'd have to give a seven out of ten. There are two cons I can think of.
1.) As you stated, Looney Tunes still not being "on-air"
2.) Baby Looney Tunes still BEING "on-air"

Other than that, I can live with Boomerang like this... And if you haven't yet, go see the "Omg...WOW" topic in the "Other Studios" forum for a bit more of my reasoning behind my rating.

I don't count Duck Dodgers, though. Its only tie to the Looney Tunes is in spin-off form, and that's putting it loosely.

Maybe the reason they're not running the Looney Tunes anymore is because they want to focus on the H-B cartoons... note how they totally dominate Boomerang right now. Hopefully they'll shift back once the next Golden Collection comes out...

Kabong, you're the expert here on GCs... when exactly will that be? Don't they usually announce in November and release in December?

While I'm at it, here's another set of Pros and Cons...

The MGM show is still on once a day.

However, Late Night Black & White is not. :(

Well, LN: B&W is back on (Saturday at 11:00), but it seems all they're showing is Captain and the Kids... yet another program avoiding the Looney Tunes.

I think Boomerang just barely averted a disaster. That new show on CN... Out of Jimmy's Head... actually showed up on Boom a few days ago, but I'm happy to say the channel guide doesn't predict it showing up again.

Ugh, cheap toon remakes strike back. What's New Scooby Doo replaced the original, and SWAT Kats is replaced by (get this...) The Batman.

Not Batman: the Animated Series (which hasn't seen air time on Boomerang for over a year...), but The Batman.

That's just plain wrong.

Next week, Boomerang will replace Johnny Bravo with... *drumroll*

The Powerpuff Girls.

I was at the 99 cent store the other day and saw DVDs of Powerpuff Girls on sale. Interesting that they're showing up on Boomerang now. Not sure what that says about the network, or CN. Or WB.

Good news is they're still showing Voltron.

Just found that Johnny Bravo has killed Cow and Chicken and will take their weekend spot. So, he'll still be on Boomerang, only with three days less per week than before.

It could be worse, though. He could've been replaced by Powerpuff Girls Z, which I'm frightened to say, is an actual anime series.

In other news, come January, Gerald McBoing Boing will be canned and replaced with Flintstones Kids. Which, frankly, should've happened a long time ago. Unfortunately, Baby Looney Tunes will still be hanging around, and the Looney Tunes still won't be.
