Right, so just like Kabong's thread about the old Cartoon Network, share your memories of old-school Nickelodeon, back during the days of the Big Orange Couch, SNICK, and wacky sketch comedies-slash-Nicktoons!

Looney Tunes were on for a hour....oh yeah. It was also the longest running non-Nickeloden show on Nick.
Also.....Ahhh!!! Real Monsters!!, Rocko's Modern Life, old All That, Double Dare, Stick Stickley, Angry Beavers, and also where you could find great They Might Be Giants songs.

And unlike CN, Nick still has great shows such as Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, and Spongebob.

Yeah, Stick Stickley rocked!

For other memories, there were...

The game shows.
Quirky shows like Adventures of Pete & Pete and Alex Mack.
Nick Jr. Long-gone shows like Eureeka's Castle and Muppet Babies... and who could forget the original host, Face?

And don't forget that era before Nicktoons took over! Inspector Gadget, Tin-Tin, and other great cartoons were brought in. Including, if the wikipedia entry isn't wrong, Voltron!

And while Nick was still coming up with their own live-action shows, they imported shows like The Third Eye.

CN at least has Foster's, though I'm not a fan of the show myself. I've heard people compare it to Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents.

Foster's can't compare to Oddparents!! That's just wrong, man...

And I do believe I saw Face still hosting not too long ago.

And now that I think about it...(this is a possibity) that Face was inspried by The Spoolbal (the only drinkable creature on Kuzbane) from the Muppet Show Season 2?

Six words to explain my love of early Nick.

"Are you Afraid of the Dark?"

Not to mention, Nick also showed the Peanuts cartoons, with Snoopy and the gang...

I wonder whatever happened to those...

I wanted cable when I first heard of Nickelodeon (though I think I'd heard of The Disney Channel first, and I wasn't bothered at all by not having The Disney Channel when I finally did get cable). Nickelodeon had so many great shows, including Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Welcome Freshmen, Salute Your Shorts, Nick Arcade, Weinerville, Hey rnold, and more. As well as reruns of The Alvin Show, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Bullwinkle, many Muppet specials (as well as reruns of Muppet Babies and The Muppet Show), Peanuts specials, and Looney Tunes. Nick at Nite was also better back then. Now, it seems like Nick at Nite only has three or four shows, with at least two episodes of eahc show a night.
