~~Originally From another forum~~ These are some tracks from Marlon's first official street album, "Shadows Of My Reflection" and it really proves his versatility as an MC and a song writer *imo* It covers alot of different material ranging from relationships and past experiences to the love for the culture and the passion to be an MC who delivers realness in every aspect of life. If you want to hear crack, guns and money in every track then this probably isn't the cd for you....And i don't blame anyone who feels that way because sometimes i just feel like hearing that gangsta shit about breezies, drugs, and money....Tha homie really paid his dues on his own with absolutely no help...The street team was me & him and that's it. Now that the album is out and going to be released in some major stores, the team is like 20 deep all the sudden lol....We'll see how long these kats last. But anyway, enough talkin....here's a few tracks off the album b/c i don't want to waste time and send someone a whole album if they ain't feelin the vibe. Celebration Of Course I get a shout out at the very beginning of the song But nah, i actually thought this should've been the intro but it's not. The song is just like the title, Marlon was just feelin really accomplished after all of the obstacles in the way (no $$$ for studio time, no decent producers, etc. etc.) He also breaks down how he makes his moves in the game.....givin shout outs to the schools, citys, and everybody else that's been supportive throughout his journeyB-Boys Anthem This track is like Marlon's version of N.Y. Shit, except more universal. Shout outs to a ridiculous amount of rappers and pioneers of the game. Going through the culture of hip-hop and it's history.....b-boys, djs, battles, etc....its a dope track to break too and just freestyle (dance-wise) if you're still flexible enough to do those kinds of things You should see how breakers get down to this at some of the live performances. I didnt know they still exist!Front Entrance I keep it real with ya'll niggaz so i'm not afraid to voice my real opinions or whatever, remember that. But anyway, this beat is hot but it sounds like a broke man's neptunes don't it?? lol...It's fresh tho don't get me wrong. The hook is hot as hell *imo* plus Marlon puts haterz in their place on this track....im feelin the tempo and the way he delivers...what you think? Broke Man's Anthem Well that comment about the previous beat sounding like a broke man's neptunes leads me into this track titled, "Broke Man's Anthem." Its basically about the daily struggles of a hustlin college student.. Our college experience is definintely NOT like what you see in the movies. Lots of stress, pressure, sacrifices and decisions that will affect the rest of our lives....which is why i can relate to this song so damn much. Very humorous track too Testimony A personal testimony to what he had to go through to get here....His hustle, his grind, how he started out in the game.. iLL beat and this track provides great balance in this album because it's more focused on Marlon introducing himself to his fans and listeners. ***Dream*** The First Single!!! Dj's thought celebration or another tracked called "Credibility" should be the single but they were feeling this as well. So we basically went with what kind of reception Marlon got from the fans. He knew for a while this would be the single cuz whenever this track comes on, the clubs/campuses go crazy. It's a feel good track that probably gets the most spins on the whole album. A video is being shot in December for this track in L.A. and Oxnard. All the paperwork has been signed and we're just trying to figure out how many ppl can get up in the video b/c everyone wants to be part of it. I dont know if i do tho, im more of a behind the scenes type nigga...who knows I hope you all enjoyed some of the tracks off of the album or can at least respect the hustle of putting out a quality-sounding first album; not just some computer mic/static type joints that most artists that try to blow up online are accustomed to. If you're not feelin it then that's cool too, thanks for listening anyway
