Top Member of Society Posts: 734 Group: AC Authorities Member #18 Joined: April 2, 2006	�500 is a reasonable price for that mic, I just gotta work alot the next few months, car insurance coming up etc. So can't really afford a new mic yet lol. You can cheat though like if you got a reasonable mic, around �50ish you can make up the quality in the production process. If your processing, mixing and mastering skills are good then you can get away with it quite effectively.

For studio vocals you NEED a capacitor microphone, that's just standard. Dynmamics have a low freqeuncy response and they cut out the whole top end you you don't get a complete sound of your vocal. Microphone are all so different and each one has it's own sound and characteristics, so basically it's about getting a mic that you like the sound of more than anything.
