Heat New Head Coach The Miami Heat have fired Scottlei. They have found a new head coach that they see as hardworking and persistent. His name is Raymond King. ![]() "I accept this role as head coach and plan to do my best. This is already a great team, but with my coaching skills, I think we can go all the way to the 'Ship and win it." commented King. "I had already been talking to the administration staff for the Heat so I have some things already in order. I already know who my "Starting Five" will be and a few more things...." King told the press earlier.

Heat vs. Pavers "How do you feel about this first game coach?" "I think it is going to be a good one. We both are very good teams and are inexperienced with playing with one another. Whichever team starts to stick and play as a team will definitely win, and in this case, I hope it's us." "And now, here's the game....." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The first half of the game was good. In the first quarter, the Heat dropped alot of three pointers. It was all because of Iverson. Instead of trying to be a scorer, he figured out his teammates strength and weaknesses. The Pacers played good also. Tracy was really pounding whoever was guarding him. At half time, the score was 65-51. ![]() The second half seemed to be all Pacers. After being down by as much as 17, during the early fourth quarter McGrady hit a three to tie the game. The game stayed close almost the entire third quarter until the Heat went on a 14-2 scoring run. After getting a comfortable lead of about 12 or 14, Coach King put in the rest of his bench to see how they would play, and to his suprise, they played very well in the last minute and scored a few basketball. ![]() ![]() ![]() "We played very hard but we came up short. Once we get more experience at playing together, better shot distribution, and a better substitution method, we are going to be great and should make a nice run in the playoffs...."McGrady told the interviewer after the game. "We just came out and played hard...taking everything they gave us. I feel as though we got too comfortable and let them come back but with hard defense and good shot attempts we put the game away. It's going to be a nice season...." said Iverson |

Heat vs. Magics "This should be a really good game," said Pat Riley. "I think my guys should be able to pull this one out if they hussle, play good defense, and limit their turnovers!" ![]() ![]() The first half of the game was very close. It started off with a 6-0 Magic run though. After that, the Heat went on a 10-0 streak to make the game 10-6. After that, almost every point was answered at the other end. The score at the end of the first was 28-27. The second quarter was no different. Magette and Finley went after one another, abusing each other every play on offense. At the end of the second the scoreboard read 50-48. ![]() "How do you feel about the game so far Iverson?" "I'm feeling really good about this game. So far, I've achieved part of my goal which was getting more assists and working my teammates into the game. I think we should be up by about 10-12 more points if we would have nailed the open jumpers, but the Magics are playing great basketball. They're getting after the boards and Finley is really killing us!" "Back to you Don" The third was all Magics. After shooting above 60% the first half, the Heat shot below 25%. They missed 11 of 13 open field goals. The Magics really took advantage of this and outscored the Heat 28-16 in the third. The fourth quarter was pretty much the same. The Heat kept trying to come back but with Iverson in foul trouble and the horrific shooting, they didn't. They ended up losing 95-86. ![]() ![]() ![]() "This was an awesome game. We came out and took care of business. We didn't let them get too much of a jump at the beginning and stuck close. During the third, we took advantage of their bad shooting and sealed the game. They're a good team, just need to work out a few kinks." Finley commented after the game. |

Trading Block The Miami Heat are really looking for a trade. They want to trade A. Walker. They will trade him for a good SG, SF, or C.
