Ludacris picked up the top hip-hop related honor at the Grammy Awards last night, bringing home the Best Rap Album award for his 2006 LP Release Therapy, as well as the Best Rap Song award for “Money Maker” featuring Pharrell Williams... While accepting one of the awards Luda thanked Oprah Winfrey and talk show host Bill O’Reilly, both of which he has had a bumpy history with. Also picking up a couple of Grammy statues last night was Luda’s fellow Atlanta resident and former adversary T.I. The Grand Hustle CEO grabbed the award for best Rap Solo Performance for his hit single “What You Know,” as well as a Best Rap/Sung Collaboration nod for his collaboration with Justin Timberlake on “My Love.” Houston native Chamillionaire capped off a huge year by nabbing the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for his single “Ridin’” with Krayzie Bone. Gnarls Barkley picked up two awards for their album St. Elsewhere and breakaway single “Crazy.” The LP and song took home the awards for Best Alternative Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance respectively. |
