What are the rules for armour (powered armour, etc)? Tom: there is armour in the normal minds eye book already covered which shall be available. There may also be power armour...depending on how badly someone pisses off the military. Also – crucially – can I rely on the threat of guild retribution to stop people killing me and taking my stock and spaceship? Tom: If you have enough status with the association then yes, and they would probably stamp down quite hard on that kind of thing...wouldnt want to let people get ideas eh? The Contracted Perk – can I modify that to get better deals on weapons (i.e. bring more to a game, etc) rather than blow it on one big item? For me, this would better represent the “contract” part of it, as it would be an ongoing agreement that benefited both parties. I’d need to see the “cut of the profits” part of the rules, as well – if it’s 10% that’s okay, but if it’s 40% that doesn’t make it worth my while. Tom and Danny: We have rough guidelines for contracted for instance a level 1 spaceship will give the financier a 20% cut, level 2 a 40% cut and level 3 a 50/60% cut. This will be negotiable with the financier, who could be a player...don't forget to tell us about the contract though. It could be a ref and the contract negotiation might go down IC. The contract could work as “steady flow of merchandise to sell”, to show that you've got a contract with someone who makes the items. This will depend on you're bargaining skills and what the contact wants selling. Similarly, if I want to use my dots in Computer, do I need a Hacker AI? As a merchant, I’d need to use it – so I can talk to my contacts, and things – but will I “flip out” if I try to send my assault rifle guy an email? I can understand the rationale behind giving a spaceship required AI to fly, but for a sci-fi game your average joe should probably be able to have a go at using a system. If you do need one to access systems, maybe calling it “Computer AI” rather than “Hacker AI” would be a better idea, as not only Hackers will want access to it. Danny: Basic computer use, and even some hacking can just be done on computer skill. The only extra things you can do with the AI are access virtual worlds and attack other AIs. The AI just makes you better at the other tasks. |
