i jsut feel christians are lowering themselves and feedn a nature they were suposed to leave behind. the fun in christianity etc is a relationship with God and no sinner cna ever understand that until they experience it themselves. sinners cant feel theyv a need to know Christ when christians are living same way as them. also, its not about rules, i believe what i believe about the bible, and am convicted about things, other christians are different. course you are gona have a gud time clubbing because you are spending time in an atmosphere of corruption. why casnt you go sumwer else of benefit to Chrsit? im not fighting guys, this is jsut something i find depressing and sad :( really do, gets to me.

well i do agree with you Rachy, but not everyone is up to working for God constantly, soo a wee break can always help. I'm definitely not saying that helpin people is not fun, i find it class, but its just that not everyone is like that. God gave us different talents, so if a talent is to go out an help people, they can do it, if not, they don't. And again i'm not sayin that we shouldn't help people, its just a break, but not from Christianity, just from the pressures of life. And obviously don't sin in the clubs, or what i've just said is pretty useless.
Sorry for waffleing on der, i hope you understand, but its just another point.
oh dear i really did waffle on did i  , :D

for me this issue is pretty much a no brainer so to speak u basically dont go clubbing for a few essential reasons...

1) Its a place of the world (Romans...."and be ye not conformed to this world but rather be transformed...")

2) Its a place of sin (1Corinthians..."how can light have fellowship with darkness...")

3) Its a place of drunkeness (Proverbs..."be ye not among winebibbers [people hu r tipsy basically]...")

4) Its giving into the desires of the old nature (Corinthians...Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new...")

Again i give u eg from the early church, Christians were a despised community because they were different, they were believed to be the "haters of mankind"(sumthin like dat, in Tacitus letter bout fire in rome)
The Christians DID NOT take part in the pagan celebrations, where people did essentially wat people do at clubs...all about drink, sex, immorality of a all kinds, allowing human nature to do wat it wants. Guess what people were converting to Christianity at an astounding rate! God blessed them for being SEPERATE.

"we are not of this world"!!!! (quote frm sum early church dude)

For all my points i give valid Biblical evidence! If comone gived me valid Biblical evidence for clubbing i will personally apologise.
Reasons for clubbing all come from r own notions....but remember human nature inclines us to sin and make excuses for r sin! Basically get backto the Bible, we all desire to know God's will, and what God wants to say to us...Its sitting in fornt of u!!!!!The Bible is not the notions of human nature but its God's Word!

sorry, i just thought of this when you wrote 'we are not of this world'
now i'm not attcking you, but should we be doing anything then. And all this stuff about the 'early church', incase you haven't noticed it isn't the early church.
Sorry that sounds bad, just given you somthing to think about.
And i'm impartial to this clubbing, but more with it still, i don't think its that wrong, but readin through all this is rather challenging. :D

of course this aint the early church, but there is so much we can learn from it! God blessed the Early Church with phenomenal growth, which cud go down well today. Also u shud be thankful for it! Imagine if they had got it all wrong, and they wernt blessed with growth, u may not have Christ as Saviour today.

Whilst we are not of the world we are to remain in it. After all thats what Jesus taught us in the Great Commission, to go and preach the Gospel!
Its likethis, i will talk with unsaved friends ill have a lugh with them, ill go bowling with them, ill tell them im a Christian ans everything i can about knowing Christ, (i am in the world) but i will not participate in there sinful activities (i am not of the world)

u picked a hole in one of my arguements but what about the rest, and the Biblical evidence to support them, Biblical being the Word of God.

yea sorry about that last comment, t'was a bit bad, but i am thankful for it, but it doesn't mean we can't change. Anyways this is abit off topic. And the growth today id still huge, and God blesses us just as much, yeas mabey it was alot more apparent then, and the growth was incomparable, but Christianity is still the fastest growing religion(or mabey thats just in China, but still).

Absolutely Yes, at no point in the Bible does God say there is anything wrong with having a good time.

i haven't voted either even though i strongly believe that Christians shouldn't go in2 pubs and/or drink - with the exception of goin in2 pubs 2 spread the Good News. this is because drinkin opens up the mind 2 all sorts of evils, leaving u no more Christian than a drunk athiest. eg. when wine was first discovered by Noah, he got drunk and ran about naked for a long time where evry1 saw him!

the question in this one though is should we go to clubs or not? just coz you go to a club does not mean youre going to drink!! i can drive down to a club with friends and be designated driver and just go to dance and have good craic! so whats wrong with that?

yes but does goin to a club, make ur walk with Christ any closer, wether drinking or not?

Since the question is, is it right SPIRITUALLY for a Christian to go clubbing then spiritually wat do we gain from such a wordly activity?

...having fun? dancing? where else do u know of apart from a club/bar that u can go dance?

is it right spiritually depends on your own views...what your willpower and purpose is in the club i guess...

yea i agree it depends on ur purpose in goin 2 the club but i wouldnt go just 2 keep safe. by this i mean that loadsa evil pple go 2 clubs (not that im accusin any1 on this site  ) and ur bound 2 be influenced some way r another. afterall, the Bible says somewhere not 2 go 2 places of evil and 2 stay away from those pple. (with the exception of evangelising of course).

Besides there r other ways of havin fun and dancin and drinking isnt essential in a Christian life.

loadsa evil people go to clubs? lol!! ok may i ask who on this has actually ever been to a club or are we going by hearsay?

ive been clubbing alot and believe me, theres not as many evil people out there as youd think and it is perfectly fine and easy to just go for a fun night out and dance without drinking, smoking, having sex, going with random people...getting turned to the dark side by evil people... lol! :)
