Well no-one seems to have put much thought into replying to this one so perhaps I shall get the ball rolling! And once again, you guessed it, I'm sitting on the fence. I firmly believe everything that's said in Genesis, as being a christian I have no reason not to. I believe God and God alone created the earth. However, Genesis doesn't go into any detail on how God created the earth. Perhps the earth was formed from a big bang created by God himself? Perhaps the "days" that are spoken of in Genesis were millions of years apart, thus allowing for the existance of dinosaurs? (alhough personally, I believe that dinosaur bones were just planted in the ground by God just to keep scientists in a job). At the end of the day, I can hoenstly and truthfully say that I do not care in the slightest about how God made the earth. The fact is (i believe) that He did, and that's good enough for me. People who spend their lives living in the past, trying to find out how we got here need to realise that the future is much more exciting! |

OK OK so this reply mite not make any sense, but it is true(i realli should research these things but hopefully you will understand) There is a creature on earth that has 3 substances in it. and any combination of two of those substances would result in the creature blowing itself to pieces. So this is a huge problem for scientists that believe in evolution!!!! true fact! Hope this helps. |

I remember Mr. Brown telling us that one a few years ago. It's some sort of butterfly I think. How could the world and universe be so perfect from a "big bang" it's just stupid. All that about how our bodies work etc, it couldn't, just couldn't, have happened so perfectly without God. I agree with Kyle about the "days" in Genises maybe being millions of years. God is eternal so what is a day to him? |

Well i'm not sure about the days being years, but well put Gary, (and i thought it was some kinda beetle). Neways, i believe that God is sooo powerful that he can change things in one day, and there is no denying that, just really we don't know what he meant by 'days'!!!!! |

I am certain that God made the world but i, like everyone else, have not got a clue how! Genesis isnt very detailed so I really dont know. Dinosaurs are a bit of a problem cos I dont beleive that the world has been in existance as long as scientists say it has been, so im gonna hav 2 agree with kyle. |

i also remember hearin sumthin..altho this was by Charles Darwin "I can explain for every single part of the human body through means of science. except for the eye." Although a groundbreaking anthropologist himself, Darwin was never able (nor ne1 else 4 that matter) to explain how the human eye had been formed by science. he also became a Christian in later life! enough evidence 4 me not that we ever needed any!

It's actually unproven that he became a Christian, although if the founder of the theory of evolution had indeed become a Christian on his deathbed, it'd be a huge blow for the old big bang/evolution theorists! |

just to clarify an earlier post, the bombardier bettle is the insect with the three chemicals. I belive that God created the universe via the big bang, i'm not sure but i don't think that the Bible says anywhere that the days were consecutive (correct me if i'm wrong). I belive that dinosaurs existed and that God used evoloution to create us, natural selection would not really workproperly without him, as a useful trait would probably be recessive and so might not crop up in the next generation, so he made it stay. |

Thnx for that. But i still disagree that we evolved, as God said he made us in likeness of himself, and I don't really think he changes. And i also disagree with the big bang theory, i don't know why, it's just one of my beliefs. |

yes God made us in his likeness, but we don't know what God looks like, so we cannot say that we look entirely like him |

hey this is my wee humble opinion... i believe in both! ha! heehee! right i believe God did create the world, i believe He designed it perfectly and created a masterpiece man has now set on destroying.. but thats another topic! but i do believe it had to be created with some force.. hence the big bang.. or something like it! who are we to say that God didnt create a massive explosion and control what came out of it? it's like people disagreeing with dinosaurs or ice ages and saying it disproves the seven day story.. which is just a story in my eyes! it wasnt a period of seven sets of 24 hours... it was just the easiest way to descride a section of time using something relevant. again who are we to say that God didnt use the ice to sculpt the mountains? i mean artists use brushes and scrapers and all sorts.. why do we assume God didnt do that too? i dunno i kinda just like the idea of God as an artist working on a very big canvas |
