Well, i think the SU weekend has changed my life forever. My faith grew so strongly during it and it is still as strong today.
Everyday since i have started to read the bible. But i am struggling on what is the best way to study it. At the moment i would read the bible in 'topics' for example abortion. Then i would copy out the relevant verses and write my own opinion on them. And God's opinion.
But i'm never sure if thats the best way to do it.

Please write your own ways of doing it, or any tips or hints.

Ty

Some good ideas there! I would do alot the same as you, in that I look up something thats on my heart that day... find some passages on it and read them. Food for thought.

At the minute I'm reading the Bible cover to cover too. It's hard to take in at some parts and the law books back in the Old Testament like Leviticus and Numbers can be heavy going, but I find it really rewarding. It's good to familiarise yourself with all of God's word.. and everytime I read something over again I find something new! It's class!

God Bless in your Christian walk, It's class to hear that you enjoyed the weekend :) I did too

Hey,
Firstly, the SU weekend really changed my life 2 and im luvin life so much more now than i was before! I hav started readin the Bible evry nite and i think its helping me.
I started by looking up all the references that Neil gave us on da weekend and then i used the guidance things at the front of my Bible (the youth Bible is really good 4 dat) to find references for anything i was thinking about or interested in and i think it has really helped just to get to know what God says about the things on my mind, and not just what i mite think.

Well bye 4 now

Yeah I get it too, it's really good and I have to say i think that sometimes when something is really bothering me the paragraph for the day relates to that exact thing and I feel God has spoke to me through it.

Oh!! I have 'Word for you today' It's really good and it gives me a new perspective on some day to day things. I like the way it gives you parts of the Bible to read because I would never know where to start! They're good though, just thought I'd say...

i dunno, but i would find that mabey boring, or just difficult. But in the youth bible there are the koool wee stories, so i suppose it would help me understand the whole bible, instead of just the focused points.

I'm reading it cover to cover as well, on sundays when I don't go to church, so i'm going slowly, i'm still on genisis, I haven't even reached Joseph yet, but I think i'm reading about his father and older brothers

I tried that once, I don't know if I finished Genesis but it really put me off the OT to be honest. It all was about a list off a family tree and to be honest I found it boring. I'm worried about thinking that though, surely I should find ALL of God's word interesting! :(

I have 'word For You Today' and i agree with christine, when you pick up the Bible, you dont always know where to start reading. Thtats why this is good, as it just gives you verses etc. to read each day.
