yeh, iv a book at home called living for God by John Grant.its super and there is a chapter on studying the scriptures. part of it mentions researchign the actual book before starting it,llike who wrote it, why, when, reasons etc, so that helps you have background knowledge of the influence and understanding of the book on a deeper level. :D

wen i first became a CHristian i got dis wee study ting which was class but den i was kinda stuck!

so it hit me! the Bible is an instruction book only its instruction for life not setting up ur fone....so wat do u do wit an instruction book....u strt at da strt!
Som of it was tough goin were there are huge geneologies but it tink its good to getto know the whole Bible rather than the obvious parts like pauls letters.

Also a wee devotional book always goes a long way! i got Charles Spurgeons 'Cheque Book of Promises' its really gd!

u r right there is no correct way of studying the bible, different ways appeal to different poeple, but what is the MOST important is putting it into use and living waht you read, because you could study the bible from cover to cover but it coulkd be of no benefit, study with the right attitude
