I had a sort-of debate with a friend today on religion/God/Creation and I dont know how to prove that God iiis real and he did make the world. I have like a list of the 'beliefs' that he told me 1. He doesn't believe in God at all (which messes up evrything!) 2. He doesn't believe in Heaven/Hell (so I cant get through to him that he will go to hell if he doesn't become saved by Jesus.) 3. He believes in the Big bang only! (even though I have told him that it is only a theory, and hasn't been proven.) 4. He doesn't believe in the bible (he told me that, because he is a catholic, he doesn't believe in it (which is total rubbish(i think... is that true... do catholics not believ in the Bible?!) so I cant use anything from the Bible (or can I?) because he wont believe it. A nasty case for witnessing...
Any help??

How does he think everything got so perfect without the help of a superior being? The wayour bodies work and everything about particles and all. The chances of that all happening by chance must be about 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 to one! |

rite well firtsly i would like to point out that the bible was written for God, and through God. However it is real, i has been written by lots of different people, like its not just a book people made up, its an actual account of peoples lives. A bit like a family tree that fills in all the details of what some of them did. So that proves Jesus is real. wether he is God's son or not, is up to faith. And heres a wee point for you, even devil worshippers believe in God, they just choose not to follow him. And as gary said the chances of the big bang theory are extremely small. The heaven and hell thing is also up to faith, but all this is written in the bible, with was found somewere in some desert, so its all true. And yess catholics do believe in the bible, well i'm pretty sure of it And to prove he is real is a very hard thing to do. Just pray for him, and yourself to become sure of him, and he will answer. |

Rev 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. ders the reference.

That happened me last night actually.....only this person does believe in God......but he says he's not a christian.... and he hates worship music cause he thinks we shouldn't need it to get us fired up.....=[ but yeah.....totally agree with Gary & Chris on that whole big bang thing.....my dearest mother [a biology teacher at our school] said to me when I asked her about her faith "after studying my phD in all of this mumbo jumbo.....its FAR too complicated to have happened by random chance" Anyways.....to cut a long story short.....there are some people you just can't get to until it's their time.... Praying for you =] x |

see the star that will fall, is that not the sun? cuz know it says about the sun sumwer, just wundern is that the ref! als o yup, there r people who jsut seem to refuse to let us get anywhere with them but it could all be an exterior thing, i bet what we say does make them think and what they "believe" is really a cover up, know what i mean? as christians we believe every human was created by God in his image, we were made to have a relatioship wiht him so its impossbile actually for people to be athiests etc, because God woudlnt create a human who is incapable of faith in him. |

hey ur rite Rachy. Had a wee chat with him 2day and he is still as headstrong as ever. I tryed to explain what faith is because he asked me 'how do you know God exists' and i told him the sory about not being able to see wind/air but you still believe its there. ie believing=faith. I told him a bit bout death and hell/judjement day but he left me to go home by saying, 'If you believe in something enough, you have nothing to fear' That hit me quite hard :(. It makes me so frustrated that he can be so blind to something so wonderful which is God. So I just said. 'well dear help you fella when it comes to judgement day.' and then he left. Felling a bit frustrated, I sit now hoping that someday God will open his eyes before it's too late. (O and Rachy. I dont think its the sun because Revelation specifically called it 'woodworm' and my mum had a look up in a star/astronomy book thing and there is actually a 'body' of some sort orbiting out there. And anyway
Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
if the sun hit the earth it would just get engulfed by the heat. It was thought that if the sun was any closer/farther to us that we would burn and die/freeze and die which also proves how God has everything nicely in sync. )

is this not after the Lord return and sinners are left on earth for the tribulation? that the earth will be destroyed by God. it may not be that star, but i thought that was sun, the sun will fall someday, maybe i should also go home and ahve a wee caht with the parentals!lol it's so hard when people knock you flying like that, ur jsut like what is the point? but i still say keep it up and keep praying. also, there are some who are jsut so steeped they jsut refuse, my mum and dad talked with mormons in dublin and it was impossible basically, they spent ages talkning to them, but they were so blinded. witnessing etc is always gona be hard, Christ was crucfied for tellign people the truth and even the people in his own town refused to believe who he was and he had to leave. as christians we cant really expect anything else, who would actually feel comfortable being told they are a sinner and if they dont repent it will be eternal judgement? if this person is so adamently gainst, ur witness, jsut u being u and ur happiness will have an effect on them. that is why us living for God is so important
