Happy birthday huggy... so thats where you said you where going this weekend
 stall? My wee brother has went through 2 field cars, one was a 1960something Vauxhall Nova (a legend of a car, perfect for drifting!) with a completely dead transmittion and the other was a vauxhall astra (a lot younger than the nova) which has a rung driveshaft!! Don't get me wrong he is a class driver (he can drive an artic. lorry (around 50odd feet)), he's just very reckless when it comes to drifitng But the nova will be recycled soon for mtb purposes... car jump anyone?

lol! thats how i knew huggy! um... lets see... it was 9 months before my first test (which i failed for being too cautious!) and a year til the second which i passed! woos! i dunno how many lessons that was though... i was on one every two weeks i think... so quite a few! its so expensive but youll never look back! being on R's for a year sucks though but after that youre flyin!

Best advice I can give you is get out with your parents as often as possible - it's the only way to get decent driving experience before your test, because once you've passed, you're pretty much on your own... I'm taking my test soon and I've only had about 10 lessons since February - the rest of the time my dad takes me out anytime we need to go anywhere (except on motorways). I would also advice paying for so many lessons upfront to get a discount (I paid for a set of 10- get your mum or dad to talk to your instructor about it, and then you can just take those lessons whenever you want. That way, if you need more, you'll have saved some money to go towards those!

depends if your parents are laid back or not! i hated learning with my parents coz my dad would pull the hand brake up and shout loads! if you can get out in a car though and just tootle about its the best!
oooh and remember you gotta know stuff about the car too
like how to check brake lights and suspension was the ones i got
