ok... who thinks neil kinda ruined this forum.... in a good way

to remind you... he was saying not to argue and all the 'big issues' like homosexuality etc... and to concentrate on spreading Gods word etc

ver shortened down there... but im wondering should we start a fwe topics on ideas to spread Gods word in our school... and further afield

i know we are doing alot.. but is it enough?

would like to see other peoples comments on this one =]

yep.. I agree with Neil, it says in the NT somewhere (boy I need to start referencing) that we shouldn't be worrying and arguing about these big debates. They have been going on for ages and look like they will be going on for a very long time.

So when someone asks you, 'What is the purpose in your life?'
You say, 'To get to heaven and take as many people as I can with me!'

Got that from a speaker in my church a while back, I thought it nips the whole debate subject right in the bud :)

i've heard that somewhere before aswell.... a few months ago... tis great

oo(off the topic here)... but there is a ball in my church.. that we used in bible class... and it has lots of tasks/questions written over it...

i asked my sister(who's 8) 'If you where to meet your favourite band, and you had 30 seconds to talk abut God, what would you say?'

she replied 'I love God' ....... i was like :o woooooooooooaaaaaaaa

sometimes i would like the mind of a child again, so simple... and always the truth....

Sorry guys! Had to edit the title (hope it's ok) but I wasn't entirely sure that it was ok for you to directly refer to Neil H in the title... don't hate me! :(

privacy thing?
---------------------------------------
Sure Jesus said himself, to enter into the kingdom of God you must be humble and child-like (in the mind-set way not the maturity way ;) )

or something like that (I can't believe I still fail to reference, despite having the entire bible in various translations (except The message :( ) at my fingertips.

:D

and for a second there i thought i was losing my head.. i hadn't remembered writting that title...

personal attacks are also against the forum rules huggy :P :D

I can understand the name and details privacy, but the whole photo thing is very annoying.
Doing a fair bit of photography work myself, I get REALLY annoyed by the legislation plastered all over picture-snapping. Apparently, by law, you need permission from everyone practically in the frame who's face is clearly visible (I think car numberplates come into that too), even if they arent the main subject of the photo <_< but the golden rule is shoot when they're not looking :D

You'd get a few strange looks when I hold up the 20d and point it in any vague direction other than the ground.. you just sort of have to ignore it and get on with what your doing (especially at showjumping comps./airshows which you sort of have to also get the atmosphere of the event (i.e. from the people etc.) but I just can't get away with it :( )
Although it works brilliant if you hold it up and the crowd you're trying to get through disperses like a herd of sheep :D

Ok long time not on!!! our internet is broken (noooo) and bt dont have a clue whats going on so they are going to 'send us a new package' like that will work!!!

Anyway I think that what neil was getting at was that yes we should be concentrating on telling non christians the turth and not debating with them. Eg when I was on streatreach I was talking to some people outside a pub and they were asking realevant qus and were curious etc. However when we went inside they were sitting with another man and he started asking questions about dinosaures and said show me where it says that God made the dinosaures but when I got my bible out he said I dont want to see the ******* book.

On the topic of privacy etc its totally mad you have to have peoples permission to do anything!!! However I dont see the press getting celebs permission to print hideous pics of themselves!!

wooo first post since...erm november

yea, ive watched some of my friends debate with non-Christinas and it only ends up in stalemate or the non-Christian just refuses to listen - its like arguing with a wall. only God can break down that wall - that is where prayer comes in handy.

the friendly, acceptive approach is great too. the other month i asked a real non Christian (really quietly and friendly) to go to SU - he said soemthin like "dont dare talk to me about that" - i accepted that. that night i prayed for him. next day he actually apologised - i really just could not believe it! it doesnt seem much but i just find that amazin coz i have very little courage when spreadin the Word.

oh i wish i was a child again - i wish santa existed *sniff* :(

spreading the word is difficult.... especially on your own, because its hard to go to people who you know.. or don't know and try and talk about something that sometimes people dont want to talk about..

just during streetreach, at the big partay thing at the end... me and my mates where talking to this guy, who was asking alot of questions... and it is just easier to answer when your with people who agree with you... it was mabey a bit unfair on him though.... 5 of us talking to him... but he was a dood like... but wasn't 100% convinced about it...

but i think that spreading the word is the most important part of being a christian, its just something i've dreamt of doing realli.... how cool would it be to change somebodies life to make them aware of Jesus, and they want to follow him..... and we have all heard of the chain effect... i'll do a wee example

say two christians go out... and each month bring someone to Christ.. after the first month.. there are 4.... then each of those bring some one to Christ after the second 8,(etc) 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192.... and thats a year.... but bringing some one to Christ a month is some achievement... but if 10 the whole of SU went out... im sure we could do alot...

looking at those numbers are scary.... in a good way...
