WE NEED MORE FORUMERS!!!!!!!!!

i have just noticed the lack of people posting etc.... does it need more advertising.. or does the advertising work? is it designed to be a way of outreach.. and if so, is it effective?

Im quite into my forums... and am members of quite alot.. but in them there is a strong base of people(like 20+) that keep the forum moving... and also introduce a weekly topic.. is that an idea?

hope i haven't offended anyone looking after this site... and this may be deleted if anyone is unhappy about what i have said(you can edit this out if you don't want to delete it :P)

i totally agree that there has to be more people on it! but i cant help within the academy as im not there anymore! :( suggesting to non christians that its there and its a way they can ask questions might be a good idea... although maybe that would mean people would have to go easier and not be potentially offensive (ie the whole "youll burn in hell!" kinda thing!) just my two cents!

We have tried, oh how we have tried!!!! No one seems to get it grrrr!!! Its advertised in SU every week, we had a pole going about where SU wanted to send their money - but even that didn't work, also we had posters up but that didnt help much either!!!

We have talked about it and it was a point that I brought up with Rachel, but were kinda running out of ideas, so if you have any they would be much appreciated!!

ooo i know there has been alot of effort.... and i appreciate it.. i think its more the people 'don't' have the time... alot of people just dont go on the internet... but i woulda thought more than this...

and ideas... hmm advertising isn't working... and in some parts of this, non-christians wouldn't feel welcome, and would feel mabey that the Christian faith isn't all great....(some topics getting heated... even just to a simmer)

i'll pray.. and try... c what comes up.. =]

That's actually a really good idea and we have suggested getting a link put on the school website.

I think the controversial issues last year got a lot more people talking on the forum.

Oh, and btw, if anyone is particularly interested in getting involved with the website and IT stuff next year please speak to me because I'm trying to organise a wee team to help out next year's IT coordinator...

I wouldn't mind helping out with the IT Rachel!
I was a bit afraid of wanting to put myself forward this year because I've been soo busy (and with Mrs Campbell at 7th period after SU doesn't help either) with coursework (Art/Technology/Business Studies in particular) but I'd be interested for next year!

Team you say... tell me more :)

Too right about the Mrs Campbell after S.U (*shudders*) bad memories from last year!!!

I think the controversial issues are good!

I agree with J.A.C.C too, it would be good to have a link to this site from the ordinary school site

yes guys get a link on it from the school site... i planned to do that last year but never really got around to it.

And I too was dismayed with the lack of enthusiasm by SU members toward the forum! If they spent as much time on here as they did on Bebo it'd be a great little community!

hmm.. they used to have a massive enthusiasm, this place used to be hiving!
But if you think about it alot of the regular users last year where U6th, which aren't here now..
Do you have access to the stats for the forum Kyle/Rachel? Is it just the same 6/7odd users on?

yeah, i can view them (i've got my eye on you all! :P )

I think last year's controversial topics really got people talking on the forum (not that we're not talking about serious/ controversial stuff this year!)

From a personal perspective I know that this year's really crazy for us Upper 6ths! I'm just about managing to keep a wee eye on the website as it is! This is why the committee next year will really need the help and support of others to keep things going, so I'd advise anyone who liked to be involved in anything next year to speak up!!! We always need help with set-up and clean-up, the website, catering etc. It's not easy to keep things running smoothly when there's 8 of you plus Mrs. McC.
Btw, anyone who spoke to me about helping with IT/ the website next year, I will sort out something to explain how the website etc is run...eventually lol

I'd love to help out with the IT side of things Rachel. I've some ideas for the forum (still working on them, mentally) and for getting the word spread about the place. I'm playing about with a few ideas too for promo stuff which looks good but needs some refinement.
I've asked a few people about the forum and they don't speak negatively about it, they just forget/are too busy... Posters etc. may not work as well as word of mouth me thinks!

I suppose it's not my place to be talking about all that ideas stuff, I don't know.. I'm a sort of a forward-thinking/creativity freak
