depends what kind of rally you want to do!

Lancia delta (first ones) 2lt, 4WD, 8 valve pushing out 165Bhp would be a fun wee un to start with! theres a wee one in the autotrader for £6,500, 270bhp, rool cage, kitted out for a rally with spares and all!

but you could even go for a wee 106, 205 or 306. Again in the autotrader theres a wee 306 for 18,000 and shes kitted out putting out 260, plus she'd be a light wee yolk! tuned properly by professionals! then theres always polos, novas, citroens etc etc... mostly older motors!

although you cant be a good old ford! either a cossie (biiiigggg bucks!! one in the autotrader though for 17,950 group N spec) or a wee escort like jonny up there said! theres a beauty in the autotrader over here for £57,000!) the list is quite big for the older fords... mk I escort twincam, mk II escort, escort RS, XR2, RS 2000, even the humble ka..

then when you make your money go for the big boys toys... evos, scoobies...rarrr!

doing up a car... for a rally or just for daily use? both have the same option.. bring it to somone or do it yourself! :D

doing it yourself is easy enough for suspension, changing parts, exhausts, stripping her out, etc etc all the piffly stuff, but you need to get her to a professional to get her chipped or tuned or throw her on a rolling road and see what the craic is! theres loads of people out there who've built theyre own and work on it, theres a guy out in scarva and on a saturday you'll just hear the revs of all different cars coming out of his garage... or theres a guy on the way to newcastle from banbridge who builds and services them.

unfortunately alot of the shops are in england but there'd be nothing stopping you bringing her over and getting her kitted out with all the stuff you cant do here and then bringing her back again.

... im sure my dads friend could help with mod-ing a car.. he's built a kit car, and his own hovercraft =]...

he's a genuis lol... but how couuld one come up with a decent budget :P... cept robbing a bank :P.. lol

just start with the basics.... go for a wee motor thats light and nippy enough, like a wee xr2, you can pick them up in the trader for about 1000, if not less! then all you have to do is start to strip her down and source parts! you'll be flying! :D

I'm sorry, did someone just say MRS THOMPSON (aka Maggie T) is helping out with DOE?!??!? (Or is there another Mrs Thompson?

Wild craic! That woman is hilarious! My friend does THE best impression of her (and several other members of staff lol)

I'm surprised she would swap her heels and swishy skirts for walking gear...
