ok guys.. i'll warn you now.. im going to start writing.. and stop.. whatever is in the middle of these too points may make no sense what soever.. as i will most likely debate and contradict myself throughout... enjoy :P

basically.. i read Moley say that God is in control... which i totally agree with.. just because thats what the Bible says...

BUT i do get a few questions... ok if God was fully in control.. we would indeed be mindless zombies.. as our lives would be dictated by him, and no imput of our own would be there.. which would have made our creation pointless...

.. and if God was fully in control, the devil would be totally powerless... but he is not, and i don't think we can say that he is.. because he is the cause for all evil in the world... God cannot possible create evil... (ok and question about sin....... was sin there before the devil?... ie the devil was overcome by sin... like.. SIN was his doing evil.. or did the devil create sin?.... please forget the question if you want...)

.... and i'll ask about natural distasters... God is obviously not in control of those... or is He?.. but if he is does that mean that his bigger picture does not include the non-Christians who die in the natural disasters... even if it benifits others afterwards.. it would mean that God has choosen to leave people out.... or mabey he knows that they will not be saved?... but then why not kill everyone who he knows will not be saved?... but then again.. mabey some people who will not be saved might cause people to be saved... always a possibility i suppose....

some rambling from me.... i could go on.. but thats enough for now =]

totally agree huggy, God soverign and in control but hes not a control freak or a dictator and we have free will.

and natural disasters...as andrew said on the weekend - God gives, God takes away, we have no right to complain. very very occaisionly id think God could be involved in disasters like he occaisionly did with unrepenting and rebellious Israelites in the O.T., however that is always a last resort and thank God that He is slow to anger!! most disasters actually turn out to be man made or have our influence anyway.

as for sin that sorta question turns my mind to mush :P

also, that was an amazin testament from mrs mccurdy. im soo glad we have a teacher like her behind su.

I can see where ur comming from but I disagree.

Firstly: I believe in both predestination and freewill. God made us. He knows us better than anyone else. Your mum might know that u are not a morning person and so the anwers to all questions put to u in the morning will be urgh! So how much better does god know what we will do. If youve seen The Minority Report you may remember Tom Cruize explaining the precognition to an agent. he rolls a ball allong a table and the agent catches it when it reaches the end of the table. Tom says why did you catch the ball. the agent explains that due to the laws of gravity the ball would fall and hit the ground. Tom Cruize then says but it didnt.

Secondly: Read Job 1 for an answer to this one God can answer it better than me.

Thirdly: Just because bad things happen doesnt mean God is not in contol. Bad things will happen and we need Gods help to get through these. Again i will point you to Job but also I will point you to a Nooma DVD by Rob Bell called Rain. Its very powerful and might explain allot about pain and suffering that i cant explain fully.

I hope this helps you.
