Well that was my last weekend with BBA and it was as awesome as ever, super happy that Pete took the speaking this year and the prayer time and especially discussion groups were amazing. I found I pushed myself outside the comfort zone with prayer time (I would never have prayed in public before this weekend) and it turned out completely fine, same goes for discussion and now we're thinking of forming our own cell group (7-8 people).

Mrs McCurdy's point about creating something for the ones who dont have a strong infastructure behind their church (yf, cell groups, prayer groups) was very true, I myself have none of the above other than SU and my church. So lets hear from you, what cell groups/clubs/outside churc infastructure is there out there and whats your opinion on individual cell groups within school for prayer and discussion to create a sense of accountability?

Well SPARK is there for the prayer, and we get enough I could get it split for a while for smaller prayer groups. It would more people coming to pray fpor school, SU and issues they are concerned about. Although anyone who comes is a real blessing to me!!!

We do have small groups in my church, for adults on alternate Wednesdays, and on alternate Tuesdays for the girls and guys of the youth. they're goood banter like!

I think iot would be awesome if we could set it up in school for small groups. It would allow you to get to know more people and develop freindships that might not otherwise havecome about!!

yep, see the thing is is that these groups need to be self-initiated, rather than people getting organised and assigned to groups. Because that way people will want to come because they themselves helped form it. If you know what I mean. Like our U6th prayer/discussion group had no 'leader' as such and everyone was on level grounds as far as talking or praying was concerned.

BTW tell Alistar that Jonny wants to see him about the forum admin, forgot to get the details off him.

I understand that, but because the teachers are hoping to start it, they are looking for us to kinda lead t but that sounds bad cos we would be learning with you. And we aren't saying its just something else for SU people to mosey along to, i suppose its especially for people who don't have things like that in their churches.

Its really complicated hearing Mrs McCurdy talk to us bout it today but its something we want to do and hopefully with God's help we can set it up. Its the problem of insurance and the whole legally side that we have to deal with before we know we can do it but i think it would be flippin awesome!!!!

If we did do it though it would be by year groups, so yr 14 would just be with yr 14.

Doe sthat even make sense? I have no idea. O well! B)

yep, that makes sense, I think people would be more comfortable amoungst their own peers as noone would be made more ''important'' because the're older.
I understand what you mean about learners leading learners which does rise a big issue as you dont want to put any more pressure on the teachers to do more as it is. But have they actually said they want to lead the groups? If so shotgun Mrs McCurdy! :D ;)

The times aswell would have to be set with the individual groups themselves to suit the individual members, frequency of meetings and when in the day *cough* afternoon *cough*

Legal stuff eh? What would this incur? Hardly child protection is in it?
Red tape and regulation I tell you!!

No, the teachers wont be committee i think will be leading the groups if it all happens, and then maybe a couple of teachers mentoring the eight of us. Busy times!

Also, it would prob be at night, cos theres soooo much on at lunch and after school there wud never be a day that wud suit, prob wont be anyway whenever you decide to have it lol!!!

I seriously hop ethough it all works cos I think it would be awesome. B)
