Alright, I posted about it in one or two other places I think, but really it should have been posted here. I've noticed that quite a few threads have gone really far off-topic...I mean sure it can be in good fun, but for the sake of forum organization, I think it'd be a great idea to close off these topics that are no longer relevant to their original topic. Plus, we've been posting continuously in old topics, so I think it'd be in everyone's best interest (and it would improve the forum for future members) if we did a bit of cleaning. I'll take care of it myself, so Rheingold doesn't have to, or we can all close off threads we notice have become irrelevant. I just notice that ASpie and I have been continously posting (and I don't want it to become another "pissing contest" as madhollywood humourously put it) in the same topics and we just go further and further from the original topic of discussion. A lot of forums have a history, but all we really have right now is some bad porn spam and a Neverending Sentence thread, in terms of history. Let me know what you guys think... |

Heh, a lot of threads have gotten quite off topic. One suggestion I have is a "community discussion" topic, which is literally an off-topic topic where you can talk about whatever. Granted, spam isn't approved, but casual conversation can be had. |

Well pretty much anything is allowed in the Off-Topic section anyway, so your idea is a good one. However, I was more referring to the specific-topic sections, where all of them have worn down into something much less than relevant... ...And that's not to say we couldn't do some cleaning in the Off-Topic section either. |

You can also get rid of the old daily comic threads. |

I don't know, those are the most organized threads and sometimes discussion may be revived on certain comics. You never know what will happen in the future of the comic. I was thinking more of the threads we have discussed in so much that they no longer have any meaning. Also, is there any way of archiving threads? That would make things a lot easier... |

I've just checked on my own forum, there is a way of "Hiding" Threads, which would in turn archive them from view. I think it's more of a move to await approval of the thread, for whatever reason, but perhaps Rheingold can look into this when she gets a chance. |

I think that we should leave the threads because new members might have something to say in them (incidentally, I changed the validation process back to email validation) but that we shouldn't post in them unless we actually have something to say relevant to the topic.... |

Good point. I think rarisgod and myself will be able to control ourselves from now on. |

@ Rheingold - I agree with what you've said, it makes sense. I just didn't want the forum to be messy, is all. And I'm willing as long as you are, ASpie! *extends hand for handshake* |
