Theory on Takamichi; Something I noticed in the books.

While re reading my last installment. (I'm only up to the 10th Del Rey book) I noticed something curious.

Near the very end, we see Takahata sensei and Eva in the fighting area together. Now, we don't see what he's doing per se, but it's very simillar if not identical to what Eva is. This made me wonder, that compounded with something he says, well it's caused a little theory on my part.

I forget the exact details, but I think the comments are as follows:

Eva: Nice work Takamichi, you're hardly breaking a sweat.

T. Sensei: Join me Eva, and you'll not break a sweat either.

Eva: What's with leaving off my honorific, me of all people?

T. Sensei: Habit Eva. After all, we did go to school together.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, some might say, that he attended class at Mahora. Thing is, that's not really likely given what we know of his age and the timeline when Eva is at the school for the first time. I'm not saying it's impossible, but just unlikely. This is where my theory comes in.

What if, much like Eva, T. Sensei is a vampire? A "High Day Walker" so to speak. We know that he can do the exact same type of fighting Eva does, at the very least able to attack without being seen. Is this possible? Likely? I'm not sure myself, having the limited readings. Still, it wouldn't surprise me.

So, what do you think? Please tell me. I'm all ears.

It's an interesting theory, but there's not much to discuss until you get further along in the manga. There's further explanation about Takamichi's techniques and powers later on.

Anything else I say will probably be a spoiler for you, so I'll just stop there.

seeing as the place I used to buy at went out of business, I'm not likely to get beyond 10 :(. As it is, I don't mind some spoilers.

Well, if you don't mind a few spoilers;

In volume 11, it's shown that what he's doing is similar to iaijutsu, only minus the sword. The art of lightning fast attacks from a neutral 'sheathed' position, or, with his hands in his pockets. What you don't see now is that his attacks are blazing fast punches, even effective out to a range of 10 meters. It becomes a bit clearer in volume 11 when he fights Negi though, as he manages to empower himself with magic and chi, something difficult to do and for one to control both, creating one hell of a crazy power attack that leaves the stage pretty ripped up.

The interesting and also kind of frightening part of the battle is that Negi immidiately presses the attack and gets quite a number of hits on Takamichi, ending with a 'signature' move that involves an additional magic attack, with pretty much no effect other than sending Takamichi skipping across the water outside the arena. Once the dust/mist settles and you see Takamichi walking on water though, you know that things are about to get crazy.

I won't spoil the outcome if you don't want. You could probably find somewhere online to pick up the books, or in my case, a local Chapters should have a manga section.

As I've stated before in one of Chao's topics, I do not know what it is exactly but something makes me say "STAY AWAY FROM TAKAHATA." I know he's one of Nagi's closest friends but in truth I think he is a liar who will betray both Nagi, and Negi, and also Asuna. I have a feeling he's hiding something and Asuna is perfect bait. Let's just hope Negi can save everyone from this madman. I'm sorry if it offends any Takahata fans but. my theory is that he is an evil doer in disguise, and because of it Chao looks bad.

With Takahata,s comment to Eva about going to school together we know Eva has been at mahora for 15 years at the start of the manga (16 by current chpt) As long as Takahat is no older than early 30s this would be possable , he would have started roughly the time Nagi trapped her.
