This might seem like a weird question, but my friend and I were arguing about this. The first one you are probably familiar with, it's the spell Evangeline used on the demon in the Kyoto arc. Here are the scans in case you forgot: http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/2351/iceis5.jpg http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/3806/ice1cz2.jpg http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/6600/ice2qv5.jpg The second spell is from a manga called Bastard!! (Yes, that's the title). It's called Black Sabbath, used by the protagonist, Dark Schneider (it's actually one of his weaker spells from rather early in the manga, but that's not the point). Anyway, here it is: http://img460.imageshack.us/img460/2365/dsvsvivi21ic4.jpg http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/5585/dsvsvivi24sz7.jpg http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/7189/dsvsvivi25qg3.jpg http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/8104/dsvsvivi26eo3.jpg http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/558/dsvsvivi27uj1.jpg http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/9167/dsvsvivi28fx4.jpg Here's an explanation of how it works: http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1342/blacksabbathlf0.jpg http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/3671/blacksabbath1zl7.jpg My friend says Eva's spell is more powerful because absolute zero is the coldest you can get, but things can still be hotter than 1 million degrees celcius. I say that Black Sabbath is more powerful because, first of all, it seemed to do more damage, and is more concentrated. Also, the opponent it was used on seemed more powerful than the demon Eva used her spell on. DS used the spell on a cyclops that was modified with cells from Anthrax, the demon god that destroyed civilization on the entire world 400 years before, and every time the cyclops was killed it would regenerate and come back stronger, but Black Sabbath killed it for good. It also had the "Devil Mace", which was a powerful magic hammer that could smash an entire city in one blow. Finally it's said that unless Black Sabbath is casted precisely, then it can go out of control and destroy the entire world. So I need your opinions please. |

That's because Black Sabbath is contained by a forcefield so the whole thing is focused directly on the target. |

Two different worlds with two completely different fundamental spell physics, so the way things work would vary and be completely for naught on each side. With the logical spiel out of the way... Now then, the target of the spells are the first thing needed to be examined. In the case of Evangeline's Subject, it had been just recently released and even with it's naturally immense power it would still be slightly weakened by the fact it of it's current condition. Another factor against Evangeline is the fact most Demons don't just "Die" when they're extinguished. They just return to their homeplane... but that's general demons, I'm not a demonoligist after all. With DS's case he was up against a modifed giant with a bloody effin' divine rank of 0. (Divine Rank? What's that you say? Think Hercules as an example. A Divine Rank can impose near-immortality and immense power, with with a Divine Rank of 0 meaning they don't get any special Divine Powers, don't question, nod and walk away.) Anyway because of that Minor Divine Rank it's power could essentially be unlimited, minus the fact the only way to defeat it was to wipe it off the face of existence. Essentially Cosmic Catastrophe is weaker compared to Black Sabbath. You have a technique that is at least S class. It's great against any target that has a MORTAL shell and of course the time needed to cast it. That's Cosmic Catastrophe, but Cosmis Catastrophe is still only S Class. Black Sabbath can defeat things with a Divine Rank of 0 (The lowest Divine Rank out there). In head to head, Black Sabbath would defeat Cosmic Catastrophe. Sorry Evangeline. This battle goes to DS. |
