About ten years ago, a movie theatre/entertainment complex opened in our town. it was called Startime Entertainment. There was a movie theatre and an arcade with video games of varying quality. There were a few large virtual reality-ish things, some air hockey tables, a cafe, and a small bowling area, too. It was also in a large shopping center that never really seemed to have anything in it but Startime. There was a comedy club, too! One time it got some guys from "Whose Line is it Anyway?". And then there's Whirly Ball. Whatever that is.

Well, years went by and Startime fell into disrepair. Remodeling on several theatres was started but never finished, and the area became a hangout for all the local gangs and Mexican immigrants looking for something to do after church on Sundays. About a year ago, it finally closed. Forever.

Now it's creepy as fuck. Last weekend we went there to look around and see what it looks like now. It was creepy as hell. We came back this weekend to take some pictures. Here they are 8D

First, let's venture down the hallway.

Here is the hallway of abandoned businesses. Whirly Ball, which is still open, is at the end. That's it. Note the resemblance to the mall-ish areas of EVERY SURVIVAL HORROR GAME EVER.

Here's the bar at the comedy club. NOTE THE GLASSES WITH DRINKS STILL IN THEM. This place has been closed for about a year. D8

More bar.

This used to be a Burlington Coat Factory. Spooky.

Hallway leading to the arcade. Note the old-timey movie posters that are still there.

Exit TO HELLLLLLLL

Narrow hallway to the children's birthday area.

Weird bathrooms at the end of the hall. WHY ARE THOSE LIGHTS ON?

Back at the hallway entrance. I don't know who is putting these magazines here, but I guarantee that they're not being taken.

Now let's head outside. My camera is sensitive to light or something, so it was not actually this bright out.

Miniature golf course.

FUN TIME EVERY TIME.

This is the theatre lobby. Yes, the candy is still there. So are the little vending machine balls.

THE CANDY IS STILL THERE A YEAR AFTER EVERYONE LEFT AHHH WHAT THE FUCK

This is a sideways picture of the arcade entrance.

Look at this fucking map.

Inside the cafe. Why the hell is that kitchen light on? Why is the ice cream machine still there? (The fog is my reflection.)

It sure looks ready to serve some hungry people some lunch. Except it's 7 PM and abandoned as of a year ago.

Last weekend the gate was locked and there was a "No Trespassing" sign. This week, not so.

Empty-as-hell parking lot.

Miniature golf course and go-kart area in the background.

That sign sure is broken.

Go-kart area. There are actually a few karts still there.

Golf club rental area. The clubs are all still there.

Batting cage thing. I think. I never saw anyone using it.

Creepy back alley area thing.

Back of the go-kart track.

Broken-down go-kart.

Loading area.

Did I mention that there's a cemetary out back that dates back to like, the 1890's? Because there is.

Look, it's the gate!

The closest one looks eerily recent. Why is there just a pile of dirt instead of a headstone? They don't bury people there anymore.

One of the headstones is just a rock with words carved into it.

Giant anthill. Also, why are these so crowded together?

There are bodies under all of these. Bodies no one knows the names of.

Cool broken headstone, guys.

Oddly clean headstone.

Dead twenty year old from the beginning of last century. D8

A World War I veteran and his wife, whose description merely says "mother."

Broken headstone. Someone's "At rest with Jesus."

Why is this one so clean? Do these people still have living relatives mobile enough to clean these?

I don't know why this picture is darker than the rest, but it sure looks neat.

Platform with donated wooden benches that are so decayed they've probably been there since the 80's. Note the two overgrown headstones at the foot of the thing. There are probably some under it, too.

Taken with the flash on for some reason. There are those two headstones again.

So that was our night time adventure to an abandoned entertainment complex. Like I said, it was actually alot darker than the pictures make it look, but I'm sure you can still see how creepy it all is. It's completely abandoned aside from Whirly Ball and the gangs that come at night, so it was really, really strange. Startime is a place that I had been many, many times, and is where I had my first date way back in 8th grade. Now it's a spooky survival horror game come to life.

You'd better believe it. And even though the air hockey table is gone and/or locked away, I bet we'll have a better time.

so is a story necessary or is it just encouraged if someone wanted to add their own here?
