Welcome to the discussion forums for Dilip Oak's Academy!

We'd love it if you could introduce yourselves. While posting, try and include the following :

  • Your qualification
  • Your desired branch/field of study
  • Your target score
If you trust in yourself...and believe in your dreams...and follow your star...you’ll still be beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren’t so lazy.

Hi ppl,
This is Shrikant Kelkar(GMAT Jan 06 batch).

I am, ahem, on my way to becoming a Mechnical engineer , from VIT Pune, should complete it by June 07, if Pune University is kind enough.

Will still be tryin to break thorugh the American barrier in Fall 07, without the so-called "compulsary" work experience.

Am one of the few "rare" species that do come to DO's every year, and i hope to be going one step further by flying next July to the States ( and not for a holiday ).

Target score , well , it's a test out of 800 , isnt it ?? So, i guess the question itself makes little sense, 'cuz the target's right in front og us, GIVEN !! Why create another one, so 800 it is.

Regards,
Shrikant

Welcome Shrikant! You are among the few GMAT aspirants who actually aim for 800 ;)

I notice that you guys are typing your signature in the post itself. An easier option would be to access the 'My Controls' link at the top and click the 'Edit Signature' button. Here, you can type your sig. and update your profile. This will automatically add your signature to every post you make. B)

Well , i've noticed that this particular introduction section has about a hundred "views" , but hardly any intros !! :hmm:

Well people , it hardly takes a minute or two ...

N to Mukul Sir, well , yea , i thought it'd be best to follow for a student to follow in his "guru's" footsteps .. hence the try at the impersonation :victory:

Waiting for people's intro's , now that that they've had enough of "viewing" i assume ..

@Shrikant: I'm flattered ;)

@ksekher: Welcome! You've already made significant contribution to the forums. I hope to see more of your interesting posts.

@ all the others: I'd agree with Shrikant. Intros are not very time consuming.
Keep posting

Hey,

To do justice to the forum by not only viewing, but also replying to posts, here's one from my side:

My name's Mitalee. I attended the July 2002 batch of Dilip Oak's when I was in TE. Done my engineering from Cummins COEW(2004 passout). Couldn't find time to give my GRE since then, but have finally taken the date of 8th August, so that i can go do my MS in the Fall of next year.

Currently working with TechMahindra(formerly, MBT) since 1.7 years. I'm keen on pursuing a course in Advanced Telecommunications.

Being an enginner, I don't think I can settle for anything less than 790-800 in math. Alas, that hasn't happened to this date in the practice tests! :furious:

P.S. - When we used to go regularly to Oak's academy for the classes, Mukul used to teach us math. And we would call him 'Sunsilk' and giggle away to glory, because his hair would go swish-swash-swish-swash while teaching! :lolo:

Welcome Mitalee. It's nice to see some old-timers here :)

I'm glad to hear that you haven't lost motivation even after such a long time. Your work experience will definitely come in handy when you apply.

'Sunsilk' eh? Yeah I did have long hair back then. There's not much left of it :D...Incidentally, I never taught Math at Oak's academy. I think you mean Analytical Writing.

All the best for your test!

Hello all,

I am Netrali Dalvi,GRE April-June '06 batch.I have completed my B.A.M.S from Pune and am preparing to appear for my GRE in Sep this year.Besides the usual complaints about RCs being tedious and AW being a big mystery,I have to give my exams from the US,which happens to be an enigma, since no one knows much about the experience.

But I guess things cant be much different either in US or in India ,can they? The battle will be against time,I guess!!

Welcome Netrali and Chandan!

Netrali, some of my previous students have informed me that the Quantitative Aptitude section is much easier if one takes the test in the United States. This might make a significant difference in your score. :)

Chandan, always good to have some software professionals on board...All the best!
