I was told by Liz Kowalski, our sorority president, that all of us have to put our stories into the official New Pearl blog, so all can see. I guess, it's a fine idea, but someone like me, I feel a bit self-conscious, something I've dealt with all my life. Anyway, my name is Janet Terry Gantner, but everyone calls me J.T. It's a nickname I've had for years. My family owns a cookie company, similar in vein to Mrs. Fields Cookies, but I think my mom's cookies are best! But then again, I am biased. My junior year wasn't too good. I was so unpopular, until Nadia Lawrence took me under her wing, which I now regret. At first, it was kind of nice being her best friend. She took me all over, got me hooked into the hottest clique in Sunset High, but I finally saw her for the user that she really was. I broke off our friendship, and soon after, joined the rival clique of Nadia's, which had Kristin Sullivan in it. Kristin and I got along all right, we always have. I met a guy my senior year named Will. However, he and I broke up, after we graduated, which was perhaps the best thing for me. It helped me to see that I didn't have to have someone with me all the time. Kristin helped me out too, and she and I bonded, as did the rest of our little group. Years later, Kristin and Denis Daniels got married. Which was the social event of the year. She became a dancer and actress, with the aid of her best friend, Monica Miller. Monica finally broke free of her demanding mother, and became an actress once again. She and Kristin found a more reliable agent, with the help of Kristin's mother in-law, Deann Daniels. In fact, to the chagrin of Nadia, Kristin had won awards for her dancing, and won an Oscar for her supporting role in a drama. Kristin is still the same down-to-earth person we all know, even before she got into acting. Then Dr. Sullivan died in a car accident. That nearly destroyed Kristin, but she and my former crowd, Marilyn, Lisa, Mindy, and Glennie, bonded. Nadia still hated her, and hates her to this day! Oh, well, it doesn't signify what Nadia wants! I am there for Kristin and the rest of my sorority! Off I go, though, Kristin will be writing next! Love, Janet Terry (J.T.) Gantner.
