Season 1 Garners Multiple Drammy Wins! The first season of The Heritage of Hope has been honored with multiple wins at the Drammy Awards in the Short Form category and a win in the Technical category. The following are all the wins for The Heritage of Hope: SHORT FORM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Outstanding Family The Aldrich Family ![]() ![]() Outstanding Rivalry Dr. Matt Powers (JERRY ver DORN) & Dr. Emerson Mitchell (DAVID HEDISON) ![]() Outstanding Newcomer Emmett Parker (TOM EPLIN) ![]() Outstanding Younger Female Character Stephanie Aldrich (STEPHANIE GATSCHET) ![]() Outstanding Supporting Male Character Tom Crawford (PAUL FITZGERALD) ![]() Outstanding Supporting Female Character Emma Simpson (PAT CROWLEY) ![]() Outstanding Lead Female Character Carolee Aldrich (CADY McCLAIN) ![]() ![]() Outstanding Storyline "No Way Out" TECHNICAL ![]() Outstanding Series Concept We sat down with show runner Mike Allen to find out what is in store for the residents of Madison. Here’s is a short, first ever interview with the scribe. Among the show’s multiple wins, one was for the Aldrich family as Outstanding Family. If anyone is familiar with HOH’s mother show, The Doctors, the Aldrich family were a integral part of the canvas. Can we expect the same as HOH continues with its run? There is no doubt in my mind that the Aldrich family will play a huge part in HOH’s future. Along with the medical Powers family, the middle class Simpson and Parker families, and a plethora of others, the Aldrich’s are just as important to the show. I plan to infuse a few interlopers into the family, ones like Ann and Nola. Of course those will be a few them, but expect to see a bit more as well that will keep the family on the tip of there toes. I also plan to expand the family as the years progress, which will undoubtedly reshape the dynamics within this unique family. Can we expect anymore out of the rivalry between Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Powers? Last we checked, Emerson had successfully ousted Matt from the hospital. Does this mean the end to their rivalry since the pair will not be working together? Matt and Emerson will have plenty to battle over in the coming months other than the hospital. For instance, Maggie will still be in the mix between the two men as well as a new endeavor Matt partakes in that will have Emerson seeing red. Emerson wouldn’t necessarily care if Matt took up rock climbing or bungee jumping after his firing, but Matt picks a new adventure to submerse himself in after his firing, one that will infuriate Emerson. Emerson will be trying everything in his power to make sure Matt fails with his latest project. Tom Eplin’s role as troubled Vietnam vet Emmett Parker garnered him a DRmmy win for Outstanding Newcomer. What can we see in the future with this fascinating character along with his wife and newly arrived niece? Expect the show to really delve into what makes Emmett tick in the coming months. I hope to give more details about Emmett’s family life, most notably his relationship with his younger siblings. In addition to this, Emmett will be battling with his own demons, such as his trauma from Vietnam. Fans will find themselves pleasantly surprised when Emmett finds an unlikely person to confide in about post traumatic stress from the war and it won’t be his wife. Any plans to keep the concept of HOH fresh? Can we expect more references to the decade that was the 1980s? Expect more than simply references. As stories start to unfold and spin off into their own, expect plenty of romance with mystery and adventure as the backdrop. Forbidden romance will be a continuing theme for much of HOH in the coming months. Many characters will be falling for those who they can’t have; either due to their own class status, family feuds, or simply out of their obligation to another. |
