At the Kiriakis mansion, Philip thanks Stephanie for staying home from the office today to be with him when his father’s will is read. Stephanie says she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Upstairs, Justin is on the phone with someone and insists that he knows what to do after the will reading. He joins Philip and Stephanie downstairs as Bo, Hope, Brady and Nicole arrive. No one is happy to see Nicole, but Brady informs everyone that Nicole received her own invitation. Victor obviously wanted her here for some reason, but no one, including Nicole, knows why. Caroline arrives, followed by Lucas, Vivian and Ivan. Gene Briscoe notes that everyone invited has arrived except Shawn, who chose not to participate. Later, the group is brought into the living room for the will reading. Gene sets everything up and Victor appears before everyone on the television via a recording taped before his untimely death. First, Victor would like to focus on his ex-wives, Nicole and Vivian. For Nicole, Gene presents a box full of slutty clothing that Victor claims Nicole left in her closet and has no business being in the mansion. Vivian finds Nicole’s gift to be hilarious until she’s presented with a copy of the fake marriage license she conjured up and Victor tells her that just like the license chances of being real, she has no chance at getting her hands on a dime of his money! Next, Victor would like to address the true loves of his life, Caroline and Kate. In honor of Kate, Victor presents Lucas a seat on the Titan board of directors. For Caroline, Gene hands her a wrapped gift that Victor says she’ll know what it contains inside and Caroline insists that she opens it in private. Victor gives Bo, Shawn and Chelsea a percentage of Titan Industries stock and has set up college funds for Claire and Ciara that will take care of all costs. Brady receives complete control over the Isabella Toscano Black Opera Hall as well as the foundation Victor set up in his daughter’s name. Finally, Victor concludes with his youngest child and the man he’s always considered a son. For Philip, Victor gives him ownership of the Kiriakis mansion as well as his best wishes that he’ll continue to prove himself as CEO of Titan Industries. Philip seems somewhat unsatisfied with what he receives and becomes very angry when Justin is given the majority of Victor’s estate, including Victor’s position as chairman of the board of directors! Abby is studying at the pub when she receives a call from Max, one that she ignores. She then receives a text message asking her to call him back, but she ignores the text message as well. Meanwhile, Melanie approaches Derek and hopes she can apologize for the way she reacted at the Halloween party. Derek forgives Melanie and things look like they’re going to go well for the two until Melanie makes a rude comment about Abby and Derek is quick to jump to Abby’s defense. Derek tells Melanie that she’ll never change and asks her to leave him alone. Later, Derek joins Abby at her table and insists on cheering her up. At the club, Taylor apologizes to Max about interrupting his dinner with Abby last night. Brady and Nicole weren’t answering their phones and she didn’t know who else to call. Max tells Taylor that he’s glad she brought up last night because he wanted to talk to her about it. Max tries to find the right words to tell Taylor that she can’t come to him with every problem. He has his own life and Taylor’s problems are starting to cause problems with him and Abby. Offended, Taylor says she thought she and Max were friends, and Max says they are, but Taylor doesn’t see it that way anymore. She tells Max not to worry about her interrupting him and Abby anymore because she’ll never call him for help again! Jennifer arrives at the studio and learns from Chris she has a surprise awaiting in her office. Jennifer fears it’s going to be another gift from her obsessed fan, but is relieved when it turns out to be Kyle. Jennifer and Kyle get reacquainted after not speaking to each other in months. Without going into detail, Kyle tells Jennifer that he no longer works at the club and was hoping he could get a job at the studio, per his brother Derek’s urging. Unfortunately, Jennifer is unable to give Kyle a job due to the show’s tight budget. Kyle gets upset and reminds Jennifer of the time he helped her and Jack with their car problems and they told him that they would help him out whenever he needed. Kyle guesses that was just a lie and storms out of Jennifer’s office. Later, Jennifer notices a folded piece of paper at her door. She picks it up and is horrified to find it’s a picture of Sadie’s dead body!

Me thinks Victor is faking his death as a test for Phillip. That was my first thought, too. This Jennifer stalker storyline is really interesting.
