I agree. I still think the best idea is to blow up his office.

If we don't blow up his office we'll never get the chance to kill the zombies!

Beo - FYI

Quote:

Jonesy pulls on the heavy cell door but is helped in opening it by a group of three zombies that push the door open, piling into the hallway and pouncing (i.e., they're fast) on top of him.

Thou shalt read the GM's post thoroughly. :P

Lol, I'm still having trouble picturing it, maybe I'm not picturing the location of the cell properly, but I though we were in a closed hall of cells with a guarded, locked, and probably re-enforced door at the end of it. The guard comes to open my door, and all of a sudden, there's zombies! I'm still confused, but maybe it's just me. Either way I accept it, but if I'm going to fight my way out of here I need to understand. :p

Garek only got one of the zombie's right arms? He's trained in martial arts, this is rotting flesh, they are restrained by the bars, and he rolled a 27 to strike. Why only one arm when I said he was kicking for both arms? Someone trained in martial arts can easily break multiple boards with one kick. Further, when a kick reaches much farther than arms do, and a martial arts kick executes in a split second, how did the other zombie even manage to strike let alone do 12 damage? Garek should have been out of range and at the speed that a kick is executed it's kind of like saying that a mindless zombie caught a bullet (unless that zombie is also trained in martial arts).

Lazarus still has time to shoot the man in the head, if he wants. It's kind of his thing, you know.

Beo - I misread your attack as 'arm' rather than 'arms'. My post has been edited to reflect the intention of Garek's action.

As for the Zombie 1's attack: imagine kicking at Lunar with me standing next to him doing the windmill with my arms. Regardless of how fast the kick is, you enter the space within reach of my arms. There is possibility for contact.

Also, I should point out that these are not the lumbering zombies the team was exposed to in the Tulac jungle. These are fast.

Sweet, that works. so I'm assuming the damage is to his lower leg? Will it impair him in any way from performing another kick (which I believe mainly uses muscles at the hip and in the upper leg, though to properly angle one's foot you need to use the muscles on the underside of your lower leg). if the damage is on the top of the leg (as I think it would be if the claw managed to collide as the leg was coming up) then it would probably just be a pretty bad flesh wound, maybe scratched to the bone, which though painful would not impair movement but would require basic medical treatment or he could slowly bleed out from it (legs bleed a lot because of how gravity works).

Yeah. Damage is to the thigh of the kicking leg. No impairments at this point, but it's bloody. First aid would be prudent.

Anything you want to say to Merle, VioWolf? I think we've exhausted most of our conversation topics.

Can Garek reach through the bars and bring his hand down on top of the zed, and crush his skull against the bars?

Thanks D! And when I did my most recent post I though, "what? A critical miss? Oh crap... He doesn't have a table YET, but he's playing in MY game..." Lol, its like you were readin my thoughts when you added that tabel right after I rolled a nat 1. Luckily I didn't have to give myself double damage. I think I might like your table/ruling for crit misses more just because it's simpler and takes into account a W.P.. Will see if I modify mine.

I figure in DR there is a real likelihood of folks picking up weapons that they don't necessarily have a weapon proficiency for. On top of that, there are likely to be some folks that just flat out don't have ANY weapon proficiencies. I think it makes sense for this zombie laden world.

Thanks for the support!

Lil, it makes sense, and it's bitterly ironic that I'm the first player to fall victim to such a table. :p I think penalties for crit misses area good thing though, they simulate flukes that might happen in actual combat, just like critical strikes do. As long as crit miss penalties don't happen AS OFTEN (which in our tables they don't).

You might be a while, a lot of us are waiting on replies from Vio in various games. She's pretty busy with this new semester of school.
