I think we're just waiting for D to have the time to post, busy man that he is. He has posted in Atlantis recently, but I can sympathize that it is often easier to throw down a post (or multiple posts) as a player than it is as a GM.

Hey, everyone starts somewhere. I've been a bad GM in the past and even that was very hard work, had no one to teach me unfortunately *hangs head in shame*. But I stuck to it and my 2nd time around with a new player group I fixed the problems I had with the first group. |

I like to think my first forays into GMing were merely mediocre instead of terrible, since my games tend to be very talk-heavy and don't require many stat blocks, so I can get by on improvisation. Better, at least, than the GM I had who ran Palladium Fantasy and stopped to spend an hour rolling up roadside thugs. Or when he asked one of the players for a monster he could throw at the party... |

Hah, I sucked with rewarding the players, I kept thinking that they should have to work for rewards without realizing they already were. I also didn't have any real continuing story. Eventually we gave up and I didn't GM again for 1.5 years, but when I GM'd again, it was AWESOME. Fixed all my problems and had a great time with my new players, but couldn't convince any of my old players to join up.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but if snickers made an aimed+called shot, that should normally take 3 turns, not the 2 he has logged. normal shot = 1 turn aimed shot = +1 turn called shot = +1 turn Garek did the same thing, only his was a power punch (swing) + called shot. GM's call though, I would assume in such close quarters it's not so difficult to make a called shot, especially if he was already aiming before the door was open and combat started. Really glad you didn't roll a nat 1, Garek is too close for comfort. PS. all ready for another GM post, you've been faster in general (in all the games I play with D anyway) as of this past week or so, glad you've found a bit more time for the boards!
