How long will it take us to drive from here to the yacht club? I don't know how the boat will compare.

We will fast-forward to the team's rendezvous at the yacht club. Just give me the word on who is going where and we'll move this along.

I think we are taking both vehicles and letting the NPC drive the boat. It shouldn't be a problem sticking together with the vehicles unless you want it to be a problem, so it shouldn't matter who is in what vehicle. We'll say the "operation" starts 1 hour after the boat launch which will give both groups time to get in to position, the group on land will wait for a few gunshots (or a boat horn/air horn if there is one of sufficient size aboard the boat) as a signal and generally just watch for the zeds to move toward the sound and away from the supplies.

He should distract them for a half an hour or as long as he can if there are complications (the complications signal being 3 shots in 3 seconds, or a 10 second blast from the horn). We will rendezvous back at the cabin 1 hour after the operation starts.

I agree.

We'll wait about five or ten minutes after he blasts the horn so that the zeds have time to shamble to the shore.

You mean the fun hasn't started yet? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I meant the 'continued fun'.

Waiting on that post! Though I have no right to complain, at the speed I've been putting out the combat posts for my game. They are, however, about 2 pages long every line in MS word.

Given as I, the player, have much less mechanical intelligence than Peter does...can someone tell me just what the hell we're about to do?

Not quite sure, but Garek is getting a bucket and a rope in case it does not work.

The original plan, as far as i understood it, was a good old fashioned gas siphoning party. But since the tanks are underground, we can't do it with a hose the way you could with either a car or an above-ground tank. Gravity would work against us rather than in our favor. So...unless we want to find or devise some kind of pump (mechanical or manual, really doesn't matter), we're not going to be getting any gas unless we want to try using a spoon or something, lol. If this was real life, since we're near the water, boats, and presumably some kind of marina, the first thing i would do is look for some kind of service barge. Many of those actually have gas pumps on them, or at least a pump used to yank up sea water for cleaning boats. I don't know if that's going to be doable here (we don't want to yell at our guy on the water), but it's another idea.

It might be possible, but it sounds like it would involve making too much noise and drawing too much attention. It may also take more than the hour we allotted ourselves. Opening the hatch and throwing a bucket with a rope in, on the other hand, might not be as fast as an electric pump but will still get the job done.

There is another gas pump on the docks...which is exactly where we've sent all of the zombies, so that's probably not an option.

Hauling up gas bucket by bucket would get the job done eventually but produce a shitload of fumes, which (as I probably don't need to remind everyone) would be insanely dangerous if we don't make 110% sure there is nothing resembling a spark around, anywhere.

dhorn, did Peter remember seeing an electrical generator anywhere on the premesis? The club's kinda remote - it's possible it can provide its own power if it has to.

Also, the fumes would possibly kill us. I've got +4 vs poison, how are you guys with it? lol

Snikers - there may be a generator on the premises... but you might check back in the posts... I believe you guys grabbed a generator from the cabin. Maybe not.

You are absolutely right. We got a portable gas generator out of the cabin's shed, and as I believe, we do have a can or two of gas.

It probably wouldn't last long, but Peter may be able to wire up the gas pumps.

Cool, generator it is. The only problem will be noise. There will be a lot of zeds and some of them will be running.

Hell, I didn't think of that.

Putting the generator indoors might dampen the noise a touch. dhorn, did the genny come with long enough cables for that, or was it just the machine?

All right, I'll just assume we have cables long enough to run inside the store then.

I'm sure that even if it didn't come with long enough cables we could find some in a garage assuming there is a car wash or some such thing on the premises. Small towns often combine stuff like that all together in one spot, boat ramp, variety store, diner, truck stop, motel, car wash, auto repair, fuel pumps... Etc... I've seen and been to many places like that and that is what I have been picturing. I assume that this boat ramp is the center of the local cabin/tourist community seeing as it has a fuel station as well.

As far as I know it's just a yacht club, the houses presumably belonging to the workers. But you're right, there's probably all the cables we need somewhere.

Probably not necessary, though. Who keeps a generator without the cables?

Generators aren't meant to be used indoors, so yeah, i'm sure there's a cable of substantial length.

Going to post for us some time soon D? I love the game but it's going a bit slow, and we're not even doing anything incredibly complicated. Two-eight lines from you would move us right along...

Until then I will wait ever patiently, you are in no danger of losing me as a player, but it has been more than a month since the last player post in this forum. I want to kill me some zeds!

I've always been enthralled by this game (as well as dhorn's other, Beyond the Supernatural, game). It would be tragic to see it disappear.
