(Sorry Beo - I liked the name too much to leave it for a NPC only. No relation to Lucius' mentor.) Name: Lord Roland Ignatius Race: Elf OCC: Lord Magus Occupation: Emissary/Diplomat Physical Description: Ignatius is tall and lean. He has dark, well groomed hair, alabaster skin and the pointed ears characteristic of the his race. Ignatius often dresses in the formal robes of The Brotherhood of Magic when not wearing the traditional armor of his sect. He is fond of fine linens and jewels, and often wears these accoutrements to signal the wealth and prestige of his profession. |

The two men's footsteps echoed down the scarcely lit corridor. Roland followed closely behind the withered elder carrying a small lantern that fought to cast its light against the darkness. Their shadows moved with them, lagging behind them slightly and discorporating with each flicker of the flame. No words were spoken as they passed the threshold of the vault that yawned loathsomely open at the end of the sinuous hallway. He followed the elder down the footworn steps into the dank, suffocating crypt. At the center of the vault was an aperture into which the men descended, along a winding staircase of rough-hewn stone into the depths of the Alatloth. Seemingly endless, the path wound along monotonous walls of dripping stone blocks and crumbling mortar. Further and further they descended until the spiral staircase ended to reveal a cavernous grotto lit by torches. At one end of the chamber sat a figure at a stout granite alter cluttered with unfamiliar implements and papers. Behind him coursed a dark, subterranean river of unknown origin. The elder motioned for Roland to approach the altar. "The Brotherhood requires your service Lord Ignatius" said the shadowy figure as Roland drew near. Edited by dhorn, Mar 6 2010, 10:46 PM.
